Does LE have native linux support? with Microsoft ending windows 10 support in oct im sure many people will be going to Linux machines instead.
does anyone know about LE and Linux and or have experience with it?
I for one would love to change to Linux and get away from microsoft. anyone else out there feel the same?
yeah, sure, we all go to linux Seriously man, I don’t think it’s possible for common users, wait for another 20 years may be till one linux survive… wait, they have unixes. damn
They removed native support for Linux last September 2024, but that’s because they will support using Proton from Valve. So if you use Proton on Linux you should be golden.
wine fork, heh. Yeah, they dropped native linux support. I think you can forget about it for a while, till game stabilize for windows.
Why the hate towards Linux?
Personally, I tried Linux for a few months and really wanted to like it, but I spent more time looking up how stuff works in stackexchange than actually using my damn computer.
no hate, just that platform not for everyone like windows.
thats exactly why linux is bad for common ppl and that thing doesn’t change for about 25 years.
steam stats: macos 1.85%, linux 2.69% (six different versions), windows 95.45%. Any questions why they dropped support?
Wow, I really thought MacOS would have a higher share than linux, at least 5-10%.
5-10% why? Most of the games doesn’t have native macos support. Linux at least have wine, you can do windows things. Macos by itself is a dead end.
I think it’s because I know so many people that have a Mac, but now that I think about it, those people don’t play games on their computer.
Most games are dropping Linux native support because Proton/Wine is solid at this point, they’d only be covering a tiny part of their player base, and most native Linux clients are garbage.
I’ve run desktop Linux for about a decade now, and over the last ~5 years I’ve had very few problems with playing what I wanted. Usually when I do it’s an issue that also effects Windows.
