I see people complaining about how slow the bear clears maps… The videos/guides I’ve seen are all physical; is there a reason people aren’t using lightning? I’ve been playing it on my BM and am having a blast so far. I just unlocked empowered monos last night before bed, but so far the clear has been pretty good for a pet build. Get near mobs, T-Rex roars, bear teleports on mobs, pack explodes while I’m moving to the next, bear teleports to the next pack, rinse repeat… Bear, swipe, and earthquake are all converted to lightning. I won’t say it’s well thought out by any means, and I’m in trash gear that I’ve found, but this is what I’ve been doing:

Two common complaints about bear were that bear is slow and that player is squishy.
Giving your bear a teleport sounds like the perfect solution to problem no.1. 
My only question is… after you reach high corruption, can the bear survive without the damage reduction nodes from roar?

It’s still gonna be very strong but not as strong as physical. Main reason is it’s hard to scale lightning spell damage for bear as beast master. You’re better off investing in the more damage multipliers in earthquake tree instead of going lightning. For better clear you can invest in some areas nodes. Maxroll don’t claim that it clears slow, other people on Reddit claim that. It can clear pretty fast if played properly.
Well, the minion affix and %minion damage cover both melee and spell.
The T-rex buff also gives 25 spell damage, but physical instead of lightning so that’s a small mismatch.
If you use Naal’s, you lose the +17 flat melee bonus.
You lose the tiny flat melee bonus from Lion’s Strength in Swipe.
And most importantly, you lose +15% more melee from Aspect of the Shark.
But afaik Bear damage is insane, so this shouldn’t really be a a big deal. Did I miss anything else?
Losing aspect of the shark is huge, which is why you need earthquake to be melee and not a spell. Lightning is probably fine for lower corruption because bear is just so strong this season.
