I am a new player and just got the game a week or two ago, my first and only character now has been Lich because I thought I would like the theming. But after spending MANY hours on builds and playing the character the more frustrating it becomes to play. The champion is by design SUICIDAL. A good example, the first time I used Death Seal I instantly died from trash mobs. Focusing on low health just means less time in reaper form and trying to heal and stay alive means less damage. Its all counter productive and annoying as a play style. Further more I have seen many classes skill list but this one seems to be one of the few that has only 4 skills. Some of the skills dont report damage types correctly and compared to the other classes many of the skills dont “link” all of this together make it seem and feel like the class is incomplete. I want to like the mastery but it is also out shined by more damage and less effort and less risk in the other masteries. This has in turn left a sour taste in my mouth from this game in general. IMO not a good new player option but the game doesn’t warn or inhibit you either. To summarize please consider some QOL for the Lich class in light of new players and not just veterans.
Thank you for your consideration.
Update: I forgot to mention, bug doesn’t list “transformed”, single target dps is lacking in reaper form and as such it is “less” effective vs bosses as such I want to be able to stay reaper form indefinitely but currently has a mechanic that prevents that. If you insist on making it a static duration the just make it simple and clrat, enhance single target dps and lower cooldown or LET US HAVE FUN.
Yes, Lich is one of the older classes that hasn’t been touched recently. Hopefully that means that it’ll get some improvements sooner rather than later.
@Llama8 Thanks for the comments, my purpose was that I didn’t want comments to be discredited simply because of “democracy”. Its my automatic stance when I cannot provide feedback directly to game makers without community “screening”. You offered some valuable insight and enccouragement, I appreciate. Lets just hope the Dev’s feel the same way.
The edgelord has spoken so it must be true! You lack understanding yourself if you cant see my point.
I said I was new to the game, directly opposing your assumed knowledge.
I was playing to both the class strengths through passives and the skills the class provides. (mutually exclusive in design: my point)
Build diversity and experimentation are expressly intended by the developers ( aka: not bad choices)
Your arrogant narrow minded comments have nothing constructive in them and should be down voted if this system allowed.
This is precisely why games need direct feedback channels, I shouldn’t have to put up with offended kids to share my perspective.
I think i can agree with your point, but the reason you will get push back is because many classes might simply be advanced.
There is a character in a moba that lets you control 3+ copies of the hero, if any of said copies dies, all copies die. This hero is extremely hard to play. He isnt bad, but his winrates/pickrates are in the trash, because picking him will cause you to lose if you are not good with him, and he takes a long time to learn. Feedback of “im new and picked a very advanced character, it sucks” is mostly just not useful feedback.
Lich isnt a simple class, and makes use of mechanics that dont really click at first view. lich is old, and a bit bland/boring imo. But it isnt weak, and it isnt “doing two different things” being low life actually aids you in keeping up your lich form, because it helps you more efficiently mitigate damage and makes your leech more impactful.
So while your feedback is helpful, it might not be strictly correct. Which is still fair feedback. perhaps lich needs to better explain how it works, and why what it does is beneficial to the player.
