Leveling past 100

In most ARPGs I always reach max level and am constantly wishing it kept going.
it’s a part of player progression that I feel should keep being rewarded for the time invested.

It is quite noticeable that once you reach lvl 97 ish it takes days to reach 100 if your not focused on Exp Echos. Would it truly be that big of a deal if it just kept going?

You simply base a characters balance off reaching lvl 100 and anything after that is just bonus for time invested. It would take months if not pushing a year to get anything close to max passive points. Which is terms of Cycles ( Seasons ) you’ll never reach.

I reached lvl 100, and I suspect I’ll invest ALOT more time into gearing the character. It just sucks knowing I’ll never see a drop of experience again.

No matter the content, it’s always something a player can continuously grind towards.

Just a suggestion

Hard pass. This was one of the lamest parts of D3 and I don’t ever want it again.

While I would personally like leveling past 100, I think it’s more of a mod to create than an actual base game change to implement.
For most of the community, the limit to 100 is probably a good thing.

Agree. There should be something similar to paragon from Diablo 3.
Having your char reach level 100 feels bad and wants me to abandon that character since XP is a waste after 100, feels like time waste.

I think the faction rank and exp are already doing a good job covering that; they just need to expand on this.

Yeah, I liked earning paragon levels in D3 for stat bonuses.

I think a constant progression for something would be nice, but for what I’m not sure…
Lost Ark had the buildings on the island which was quite fun and the ships too, though I only got to level 45 when it was released. There was an awful lot of great stuff in Lost Ark, the boss fights were some of ten greatest in any ARPG, as they felt 3D in nature and not at all like the 2D dances we see in D3-4 nor what I’ve seen in Last Epoch.

Maybe a track whereby your alts levelled quicker if you were playing your main past 100? Perhaps you could earn exp books to pass down to them? Transmog items could be an incentive? I do always like the idea of player housing and perhaps trophies to help celebrate your life time achievements in the game? The more time invested the bigger your house got? Maybe even mini games within Last Epoch could even work? Lots of ideas I guess and I’m sure there are more out there.

Huh? I almost maxed out my faction rank, it doesnt take that long.

For most players it takes a lot longer. Also, there won’t be infinite leveling of any kind, but the exp earned can be changed to favor that can be used to buy prophecies. This system will be expanded for sure down the road.

Not asking for anything similar to the 20000 paragon levels. Just simply something other than stopping at 100. If it were to keep going past 100, you level sooo slow that it would be like 10 extra passives if you were to play for a cycle with only 1 char. BUT it at least doesn’t just stop dead in its track when you’re not even close to being done with the character.

I am level 100, almost max rank on COF. Do not plan on doing MG. So I am basically just lvl 100 working towards gear. Which is the “Standard” for games of this sort. I’m simply asking for LE to consider breaking that standard.

They have some pretty talented people working, and would love to see what they’d implement if they were to do anything with “infinite progression”.

As Robkoserg said, once you hit the max level it takes something away from that character and I do not think earning exp towards factions would get rid of that feeling.

We could be crazy lol, but I do not see the harm in games having “infinite progression”.
Especially in games like this that include an offline mode/seasons etc.
We all just want to be Gods in the end

That doesn’t change my opinion.

I would rather just have other mechanics you can expand on. Like in PoE, you can expand delve, you can expand maps, you can expand several other mechanics that each give their own reward.
I hated paragon levels in D3.

I think what LE needs is just more endgame. PoE doesn’t have paragons or anything like that and everyone’s happy with it. Once LE has more stuff to do, even if you’re level 100, it will be fine.

Depends on what these “extra” levels give? I’d prefer it less based on levels and reaching 100 to be an actual grindy achievement and chase worthy.

I’d enjoy actual self planted stat points for customization and help play around what gear we have and to play around on how to build my character.

There are many ways to go about but there are so much more factors that affect and work with each other to make it better/worst.

At the end, I also do believe LE just needs mainly more endgame.

Then people will start whining on the forum that leveling to 110 takes too long, and they have 25 jobs, 10 wives and 50 children. Then the developers reduce the exp requirement for 110, someone else levels to 110, gets bored, proposes that they increase cap to 120, but make it very very slow. People start to whine that leveling to 120 takes too long. Repeat.
