I wanted to express how much I love your game—it’s the best in its genre. I’ve spent 1400 hours in the Beta version, and like everyone else, I transitioned to version 1.0. The visual upgrade was astounding, and the game is truly magnificent. However, I find myself dying constantly now, even though I used to breeze through the Beta.
From Act 1 onward, I’ve encountered difficulties. I struggle to defeat LAGON. It seems you’ve increased the game’s difficulty, and from what I’ve read on the forums, it’s only going to get tougher in the EndGame.
As an older player with slight physical limitations, my reflexes don’t match those of the YouTubers, Twitch streamers, and professional gamers who complete the game in just an hour. Yet, I’m passionate about playing and want to continue.
You removed the masochism mode, but why not replace it with three difficulty levels: Easy, Normal, and Hard? This way, all players can find the right balance that suits them.
I hope that in your future projects, you’ll consider that we’re not all equal when it comes to keyboard skills. Do you want an elitist game for a minority of players, or a game for everyone?
Yes, the difficulty since patch 1.0 is noticeably harder. I personally like my arpgs harder in the story part, though. But I understand why it’s a problem for some. I just beat Lagon today, he was the hardest fight so far by quite a big margin.
It’s a weird situation with masochist mode. I remember before launch they said they are removing it and are putting in an item in the first area of the game, that if you use it it will make your game masochist. I probably heard this in a podcast, I think it was this. But I’ve started 2 characters now and haven’t seen this item, so they clearly haven’t implemented this. There should be at least SOME difficulty choice imo.
They probably aren’t doing 3 separate modes (easy to hard) for multiplayer server issues. I’m guessing it would be too much work and take too much server space to do this in multiplayer. But I see no reason why they couldn’t do this in offline mode. And I would fully support this, it seems a great idea to me.
By the way, this thread would be a much better fit in the “Feedback and Suggestions” category.
