Lets Talk About Shattering

I’m praying to RNGeezus here, I hope they hear my plea.

I love that the option to break an item and get useful affix shards off it exist to craft into gear you actually want to use. Awesome feature. With the game in its current state though, where Monolith farming one of the only endgame systems, it’s suuuuuper disappointing/frustrating to find rare or class specific shards on an item base you don’t want to use, shatter that base and get none of the rare affixes whatsoever.

I’m not saying if I choose to shatter a T5 “Level to Anomoly” or “Increase Damage from Shadow Daggers” that I dEsErVe all 5 shards, but the bare minimum someone should get from shattering a base with such coveted affixes should be one. Make the reward of finding that rare stuff at all be just slightly more rewarding. Hard grinding should pay off, right?

Feels bad when you don’t get what you want but easy to craft pretty significant upgrades when it works out. I think that is a fair trade off how easy it is to craft in this game but that’s just me.

Yeah, IMO, the RNG on shattering & fracturing is the necessary downside of being able to choose what affixes you want on what base & what tier they are.
