I love the idea of Idols and how they allow for handling imbalances with resistances, damage, or utility. With that said, wouldn’t it be better to spice idols at little bit? Things like:
1& 3, yes, 2 would make it trivial to get the desired stats.
Also, kinda, when they reworked the idol slot shape, I thought they said they were going to do a balance pass on the idols which I don’t think has happened yet.
Proximity interactions sounds very cool. Something like if idols with the same affixes touch each other then you get a boost for those affixes, for example.
I vote for Proximity interactions, I like that idea. This will cause to vary our selections for best combination possible instead of trying to make them fit and done.
I don’t know about rarity because variety is in the size.
About the crafting I think is better to remain without being craftable or will be easy to obtain what you need. I mean, I know nobody likes RNG but things can’t be too easy or will be boring at the end.
I would like too new affixes to have other types of interactions with the skills, to have more options.

All that I really want is a more reliable way to target farm them, as we currently have ways to target farm uniques, with the new dungeon we have exalted farm - all that is missing is idol farm.
I say this because I am 600 hours in AND I STILL DO NOT HAVE A FULL BEE AFFIX SET
BEElieve and you’ll get those idols. This made me think that the Glyph of Chaos applied to idols would be a fun addition.

It wouldnt even be a meme either as if you posted a Bee build it wouldnt get shared thus not being an actual meme
In reality Bees are not considered companions, so they get no bonus from Aspect of the Viper, they die in 1-2 hits and deal basically no damage. I tried to make a Bee build using the idols and Aspect of the Viper - its awful
The only use for bees would be say on a Necromaner Sacrifice as you would have a nice amount of things to blow up but on a Primalist - useless. Not even a meme and just a waste of coding resources currently and they are easily the rarest affix in the game. Its basically just trying to extend the shitty fishing meme from PoE
