Let us show filtered items on map

Currently only a few items are shown on the map such as uniques, sets and keys. It would be very helpful to be able to toggle items in our filter to show up in on the map to reduce risk of running from items at the edges of the screen.

Let us choose what items are shown on the map. i don’t want to see all the stuff i filtered on the map because somethimes that would clutter a lot of space. I don’t want to run a that strict filter because i like too see items good for other builds as well and that would cover a lot of my screen. I’m rather happy right now and simply don’t play builds that somehow kill enemies 2 screens away because I’m a lazy bum ^^.

If you are to the point in the game where youre heavily filtering anyway, items are quite obvious when they drop in particular because actual drops become so rare that it really stands out when suddenly you actually see one. I understand what youre saying, but I doubt this will be anywhere near a priority any time soon. It’s not particularly game breaking, and its very likely that even after hundreds of hours an average player will have missed maybe a handful or two of items.
The only reason that uniques and such show up on the map is because of how “rare” they are and the fact that you rarely if ever want to pass one up entirely (youre at least going to look and see if it has Weavers Will or Legendary Potential). Its also more important early game, where any given drop of a unique or set item can make or break your build or determine where you’d like to bring your build.

In short, I’m all for more options: more player agency is always a good thing, more options more better. However, due to the nature of the game and the lack of issue this tends to present, I just wanted to say I wouldn’t hold your breathe on this one.

Depending on the build its very possible to go too fast or kill monsters off screen even if you only filter specific items. Certain affixes are way more rare than uniques aswell and if i filter out some insane item combo for my build, i’d hate to miss it because it was killed at the edge of my screen and never noticed.

Im just saying this issue is not pervasive enough or big enough a problem that you should actually expect your suggested solution to be implemented. Not saying its a terrible idea, or that you’ll never miss anything, but there is a much easier solution to this that doesnt require a coding fix to solve a niche issue that isnt a problem for the majority of players: and thats to slow down just a little, if you happen to be playing one of the specific builds youre talking about.
Given that being the case, and all the other issues that really do need fixing in the game, this is likely to be low or zero priority

The main reason we don’t have beacons for filter, as well as sounds, is performance issues. It likely won’t happen soon.
