Although we have a way to re-roll legendaries, perhaps we can expand on that system. Currently, you will need a legendary item with either same LP’s or LP affixes in order to reroll your items.
And with the new Julra mechanics, there’s no way you would waste another 1 LP legendary to reroll another legendary with 1 undesirable affix (usually the result of Nemesis empowering), so most of these legendaries will be vendored or thrown anyway.
The new Nemesis system is great, but there’s no way you will be able to put all the non-LP uniques you found to be empowered by the Nemesis, so most of the non-LP uniques will still be thrown away.
Since now we already have ways to shatter Set Items, we might as well have some ways to shatter Uniques/Legendaries.
This can be done in two ways.
One is just like how we shatter set items, where a weaver echo rewards players the chance to shatter Uniques/Legendaries.
Or we can simply shatter Uniques/Legendaries with our forge. (Perhaps only with special Shattering Runes that can only be dropped)
Either way, we will get Legendary Shards, and these shards will allow us to re-roll Legendary Items.
So instead of using Legendary Items with same number of LP or LP affixes, we spend Legendary Shards to reroll Legendary Items. Of course, the more LP a Legendary Item has, the more shards are needed to re-roll it, and Legendary Items with higher LP gives more shards too.
So it would be something like this for shattering:
Unique Item with no LP: 1 Shards
Legendary Item with 1 LP or 1 LP Affix: 2-3 Shards
Legendary Item with 2 LP or 2 LP Affixes: 6-8 Shards
Legendary Item with 3 LP or 3 LP Affixes: 12-16 Shards
Legendary Item with 4 LP or 4 LP Affixes: 24-32 Shards
And the shards needed to reroll Legendary Items
Legendary item with 1 LP: 2 Shards
Legendary Item with 2 LP: 6 Shards
Legendary Item with 3 LP: 12 Shards
Legendary item with 4 LP: 24 Shards
And of course, down the road these Legendary Shards can be used for something else.
Maybe upgrading low-tier Uniques, like Keeper’s Gloves
Keeper’s Gloves
+(17% to 37%) Poison Resistance
+(17% to 37%) Minion Poison Resistance
10% chance to summon a swarm of bees on melee hit (8 second cooldown)
Upgraded Keeper’s gloves
+(40-120) Armor
+(3-6%) Health
+(30-50%) Minion Damage
+(17% to 37%) Poison Resistance
+(17% to 37%) Minion Poison Resistance
10% chance to summon (1-3) swarm of bees on melee hit (4-6 second cooldown)
So items like these won’t become totally obsolete.
So with this method, it still costs the same to reroll Legendary, but now we can make use of the unused Uniques and bricked Legendaries, and we have Legendary Shards that would have so many potential uses.
