I feel like I must be missing something here. Why is it when I leave an echo (and as a dad to small children, that happens more often than I would like, I get kicked out to the main monolith hub and my access to the echo is gone?
Leaving echo is considered âfailureâ thats why you lose it. If thats you mean as a âlose accessâ
Why you go to the end of time and not in monolith hub is probably to ââmain town portal â is the end of time area waypoint rather than âsecondary spotsâ or atleast this way i think of it.
Thatâs what I feared. No offense, but that is a really bad mechanic. I canât think of another ARPG that does this.
PoE Labyrinth does the same thing if you fail to complete the trail or you decide to portal out. All progress is lost.
Lab is not even close to a similar comparison. An echo is a POE endgame map. Its like a D3 rift. You can leave those, if not an unlimited number of times.
I can understand how this can be frustrating with little ones around needing constant attention. Anytime that Iâm in an echo and I have to step away quickly, I wonât leave the echo. I backtrack a little bit to a safe area and afk inside the echo. As long as you werenât engaged in combat with a pack of monsters, nothing is coded to hunt you down like in PoE.
I have stayed afk in an echo for an hour at least a few times and nothing happened. I know itâs not the best solution if youâre pulling the whole echo and you need to afk instantly, but hopefully it helps some.
I just wonder what was the reason behind this design decision to make the timeline (echoes) reset when a player teleports to End of Time.
Maybe because with the former system, players sometimes teleported out before getting killed. Having a fail on teleport would lead to lose echoes and so discourage doing so.
I have kids too.
An echo is 1-4 minutes ⌠the loose you have is really minimal if you have 1-2 emergencies an evening⌠i have a hard time to really see this as a big problem sorry.
On the flipside i wouldnt care about a change either.
Then think of it like the old version Zana map mission, where you lose the map if you left or failed the objective with just one portal. That is what you have here. The lab is a very good comparison as a death in an echo = getting booted from the echo, same end result.
It literally takes a minute or two max to clear an echo. Hide in the corner if itâs that of a deal breaker for you.
Or if itâs such a big emergency that you canât spare 30s to finish an echo you shouldnât care about your minor and meaningless loss in rewards.
AhhhhâŚwhy donât we have a pause key if playing solo?
