Learning Spellbade, and the art of war

So, after my original fault of making a druid all the way up to 68 as a SCF character without thinking about the fact factions wouldn’t pass over to my ALTs (I’m new. I’m a stupid girl, bare with me), I decided to make about…9 ALTs, and I’ve settled on Spellblade as my main beacuse I love the speed of the class. I understand that at level 26, I am not exactly anywhere near the peak of powered rolls. I’m wearing mage gear that makes me pretty much elementally immune to most things. I can comfy act like a WoW player and sit in fire till I decide I’m bored. I’m making this post for some tips and ideas on things. General paths I might want to invest in skill slots for, things that might be interesting. I’m always happy to read forums and ask for build ideas.

So far, I’m investing Specialisation slots into Mana Strike (or whatever it’s name is. It’s late here. Sorry. Hi from Japan though), Manaward, and Shatter Strike. I’m happy always to flip stuff around, but any information like possible uniques to look out for, things to maybe remember, bad habits to break. Id love to know any cool stuff a Spellblade should know…other than the fact we get hyper squishy later on (I have read post…I suddenly feel the cool gimmick of this class is more paper then power)

Anyway. Thank you in advna.ce. I’m being loving this game so far after other games. :D. Shall check back after a few hours. Have a nice day all!!

Those 3 skills are the core of your build. You’ll also add enchant weapon, as that’s just a free damage boost. For the 5th you could add frost claw, since you can make it proc from other stuff (so you don’t use it on your skill bar) but the bonus damage isn’t too relevant, so you might go for utility instead and spec teleport.

You can look at this build guide for a similar build. You don’t have to follow it, of course, but I find that he does explain things pretty well and should give you a great basis for making your own.

Along with DJs advice, you can focus on Fire, Cold, or Fire/Lightning (really fun, but not as good as being specialized in Fire or Cold specifically).

I wouldn’t spec Frost Claw though. I’d recommend Teleport or Surge. Teleport as a more defensive options with great global utility buffs (resistances and cooldown primarily) and Surge for a fun offensive spell that makes stacking Flame/Frost/Lightning Aura a breeze.

Another available option is to go for a DoT build.
I haven’t tried it out myself, but I remember seeing this build in the previous Cycle. The skill setup is exactly the same, but gear is different and the goal is applying 999 stacks of Frostbite that deal damage over time and boosting that damage over time.

Thank you for these. I actually love the sound of them. I did want to try a ride the lightning build idad, to see how that plays. It’s such a very weird cool idea to go full lightning and see what I can do with just a few skills working off each other. But the DoT builds sounds fun and Surge sounds very useful.
