I know you’ve been very open about some aspects of Last Epoch’s development, and as a developer and gamer I really appreciate that.
Our company runs hundreds of servers, so we often do post-mortems to discuss things like outages. Because, despite monitoring everything we can, things still do go wrong, we still make mistakes, and it’s always good to learn from those things.
I’d love to know what didn’t go the way you expected and what you learned from it.
The post mortem is easy…
They gushed over 1million sold copies, and failed to realise there were players going to play the game, they probably expected 60k and did what every gaming studio does, scaled to the bare minimum and trousered the cash.
Its been funny watching some of LE’s original streamers, one mainly, sat there with his bottom lip out with a face like a smacked arse after all the flaming of other games and proclaiming that “LE has made it.” a week in advance of the 1.0 launch.
Hope this little setback doesn’t effect the game in the long run, after it all when it runs its a bloody good game.
