99% of the playerbase doesn’t care about pushing leaderboards.
If you have 2 billion Twitch subscribers and suck at the game or play it for only 30 minutes a day, will you still hit #1 on the leaderboards?
The point I’m getting is that you don’t like competing with players with perceived advantages that you don’t have access to. That is a manufactured problem, not a real one.
They should be, but pointing out that people who can play all day every day are far more likely to do better on a leaderboard that people who can’t is hardly gaslighting (in addition to Bronco’s comments on your usage of the term, 'cause conflating abusive behaviour & domestic abuse with making someone aware of their chances is totally classy & an awesome argumentative tactic!).
Plus, if you actually read what he said then you’ll see that he didn’t actually disagree.
TBF, that’s just to you, leaderboards matter plenty to other people. Doesn’t mean that they shouldn’t be expanded upon. They can also give some limited understanding to balance. They are a real feature, just not one you like.
Come on mate, you should know that hypocrisy is a bad thing. You give others plenty grief when they just spout their feels about a thing as objective fact, don’t go hopping over to the dark side.
They’ll have had to farm the gear with bad drop rates to get the gear to do anything with CoF.

One important thing to note is that, while MG and CoF are not separated, Solo is a different server, and therefore a different leaderboard.
The “regular solo guy” who really want to top a leaderboard should play on solo-account-found.
And ultimately, if the people who really want to min-max in standard mode and be on top all pick MG, I don’t see it as an issue. There are far enough people who don’t care about leaderboards to keep CoF healthy (plus CoF doesn’t need a huge amount of people to work, MG does).
As long as we can see on the leaderboard if the character was MG or CoF, I think keeping them together is far more interesting than separating them.

I’m all for a leaderboard and a loserboard so I can become number one!
I don’t think it’s a good idea to devide people even more. Picking a guild is a choice and you can pick as you like it. Why should there be a seperate leaderboard then?
