Last Epoch Trade Survey

Trade is a mixed blessing. It can make finding that really hard to find item easier, but could also lead to botting, 3rd party vendors and other issues. So, why not have trade with Last Epoch as the mandatory intermediary? I want to sell an item; then I trade with a LE npc. I want to buy an item, then your npc shows me what other players have sold to you. No player to player trading allowed. This way you give players the ability to trade. I realize that this would necessitate reworking the game to accommodate this kind of trading… but in my opinion would be well worth the effort.

I agree. At this point I think EHG should (and worth) try something different for LE.

I realize that in part I like trading mostly because when the “shiny loot” drops, it makes you feel like you win a reward for your effort killing stuff and you know that when you look for the market price.

Find a way to give that type of moments for loot (and a way to “sell”, like the NPC suggestion) and i’ll not miss a trading between players because, honestly, I prefer to craft my equipment and not just buy it with currency to other player (My PoV, just to clarify).
“Moments” examples: PoE when expensive items drops (Divine Orb) or the old Mu Online (MMORPG, I know) when Jewels drops (Jewels of Bless/Soul/etc).

Edit: And if the problem is “I can’t find that Unique/Exalted I want”, EHG can still implement many ways to target farm it instead of making it available with a market between players. And i’m saying this as a guy who like to sell all his stuff in PoE.

Oh btw the next problem I see with the survey… everyone and their grandma can take the survey no matter if the person is even intrested in LE. There is so much wrong with the survey I don’t know if it realy will help in the end.

You need to have a valid email address that works with google services.

This might not be 100% representative, but most people will probably use the email address that is associated with their LE account.

So the devs would have a way to filter for that.

Survey completed.

I don’t know if people complaining about restrictions regarding trade are the vocal minority or not but to me a D3-like trading system would do the job.

This is a HnS. Loot is one of the 3 key elements of this genra. So i rather like when the loot that i get isn’t coming from a trade system.

PoE is the exact exemple of what i would absolutely hate in a trading system in Last Epoch. I don’t want to rely on other players for completing my gear. I want it to come from me playing the game, not spending half of my playtime watching whatever trade site to find an item or rely on way too complex crafting systems because of billions of different systems put in the game league after league as in PoE…

For me trade is important to exchange items i dont use for those i want

Idea : exchange item for items not for money.
The seller choose what kind of items he wants and choose from the offers.

We can limit it to items we have already loot and same for there legendary potential.
exemple : i need to keep farming to loot an UNDISPUTED axe with 2 legendary potential before being able to trade it. But when i drop 1 i can trade tones of other uniques with 2 legendary potential insted of selling them to the vendor. (why do the game give me so many bows ? lol)

Wait, what?? I understood Tencent got only got 25% of the shares… So now the company is owned by Tencent?

they were talking about ggg

Ah, OK, thanks for the clarification, I was reading over, and not in detail.

Though, given you skimmed without reading, the “and will take over 100%” bit is more likely “and is allowed to/has the option to buy the remaining shares”, which is quite different.

Doesn’t matter as much, the moment Tencent has 51% of the shares, has full control.

I think this is no longer true, unfortunately

No it hasn’t yet. There is an agreement, so until 2024 no further changes to the West version of the game can be done. That’s the reason PoE on China is quite different cause there, Tencent can do mostly whatever changes to the game they want. (and it has nice features btw in some aspects)

Link it

Tencent already own majority share and dont have any creative freedom in the western game, if they did why cant Tencent just form their own GGG? oh right because all the talent is at GGG not fkn China

Yeah they can remove skeletons and give shitty pets and a small extra pack for supplies but it doesnt change anything for us

The game isnt dead until Jonathan/Erik/Neon/Rory/the Marks and the core developers leave, infact if Chris stepped down and these other guys stayed it wouldnt matter. Neon is basically running the show from what I know

I took the survey and thought some of the questions could have been worded better. I will say this about trade:

The way trade is now, is better than I thought it would be. I like the change with unlimited time of trading with people in your group when items dropped. I also liked the fact of using a rune of creation allows the item to be traded as well.

Anything else with trade is whatever.

When it happened back in 2018 it was posted by GGG themselves: Announcements - Tencent has Invested in Grinding Gear Games - Forum - Path of Exile

More details on the agreement per si can be read here: Chinese firm's deal to buy Kiwi video game firm worth more than $100m - NZ Herald

The article states “80%” but actually was 86.6% according to this: Grinding Gear Games - Wikipedia

Now, if you are still not convinced (which is a total right you have) and want to keep arguying for nothing like your previous post, going on a subjective direction, please keep it to yourself.

Does any of those address the part where tencent takes over 100% and buys out the founders in 2024? That seemed to be the biggest claim. Until the founders bail, it’s unlikely tencent will make the worldwide version of POE the same as the chinese one as claimed.

Wheres the link/evidence from what I said though. I know Tencent have ownership but they have almost no creative control because they dont want to…

Tencent invest into things that are profitable. They know GGG are profitable and have amazing ideas so they invested, they also must think the same about EHG which is why they invested…they didnt ‘buy control’ so they can usurp power from the developers and change the game, they MODIFY it for the China client but thats all really

edit: one thing lots of players hated about the Tencent backing of GGG/EHG wasnt they were actually worried the game would change - they just didnt want to financially support the CCP in anyway possible, you are just trying to cause trouble on this forum

I really had to laugh when i saw you writing that.

Having full control entails just exactly that. They can take over whenever they want, if there’s an agreement until 2024, well that’s another thing entirely.

All come up to Tencent good will with GGG, there’s no reason to think they will take over, but they don’t need any excuse to do so.

Its in the same way most game content is copyrighted and owned by the publisher, usually companies don’t apply it to most game content on the internet, because they are benefitting from it or don’t care, but if you bash harshly the company, they can quickly punish you (as how Nintendo does for no reason).
