More gold?

This is such a bad take. Everyone with even a minimal experience in a trade economy game knows that item progression is gradual. You don’t simply farm the bare minimum zones and end up with the best gear.

But in lower monos you can run them faster and get same ammount of gold for the time spent

Take PoE for example. There’s no gold. You farm currency. But currency drop ( I mean really valuable one) is not a constant flow like gold. You can run 2 day and not drop a single Divine Orb. So you need to farm good uniques , craft items etc. With gold you just play whatever you want and the ammount of gold you have will STEADILY increase.

It kind of is.

Yeah, if you are doing yellow and white maps…

Can you please stop being silly? End game PoE farming is calculated with divines/map.

Dont call me silly please. I didn’t insult you. No offense plz. I just don’ like your paradigm ‘gold can buy any item you want’.

Gold is just that a currency. It don’t matter what a currency is called. If a civilisation uses choped of beaver heads (no animals were harmed for this example!) then they use them but it’s still a currency at the end of the day. Calling it divine orb, chaos orb or gold isn’t changing the fact that it’s still a currency.

I’m always baffeled how PoE is twisting words to make people belive that they changed the wheel by changing the words in the description while saying the same stuff that was always there.

Farming a currency isn’t easier then farming an item… it can be for sure because with enough time you can farm billions of gold on a level 10 map. Most speedfarmers simply make the content they can farm the fastest with meaningfull drops and that’s most likely never that easy content.
On top of that someone who is target farming items still passivly generates the same currency so there is no downside to it besides the one people make up when they compare droprates with currency aquisation… that’s all in your head because at the end of the day you don’t even realise a stranger bought an item you’ve never seen from someone you don’t know existed.

It’s just the same old cycle with the same old arguments.

But you don’t see the difference? Gold drops from every single mob. Divine orbs are much much more rare. So when Divine Orb drops there’s a moment of excitement for a player. When a plie of gold drops there’s none

I play the builds that get the most out of the items that dropped. A hunt is fun if you get what you aim for. I do not know any hunters that go out hunting all the time and come back without anything to show for it after 1200 hours of hunting. They move on to another hobby.

If stuff doesn’t drop then I will lose desire to play which I am on the edge of doing with this very game. The droprates are pathetic for some items. If this doesn’t change since there is no trade (I really do not care about trading) then droprates need increased on some items badly. I am waiting for the next patch and want to see how droprates are handled. If the droprates are not changed or barely changed after next patch, I will be out and move on to the next game.

Diablo 3 Season 28 is soon then Diablo 4 Beta is right around the corner and then Diablo 4 launch.

Between divne orb drops I farm enough currency to buy… wait for it… another divine orb! That’s PoE in a nutshell.

In the time I farmed enough gold In WoW to buy something out of the AH the prices have been already raised.

We don’t know how currency aquisition will be at the end of the day but comparing apples and oranges isn’t helping. EHG has stuff and community testers to test trading and how fast aquiering currency vs drops is if the WANT TO. We are just beating a dead horse and I’m pretty sure I#ll end up quoted because someone will tell me farming gold is always easier and faster then farming items ^^.

Open a thread about this topic please and state what items have a to little drop chance from your point of view. Detailed information from everyone on this topic is very important. Don’t get just pissed off about it and tell the devs exactly what you think. I bet a lot of people will share their thoughts on the topic as well.

The idea I’m trying to convey is that LE currently doesn’t encourage doing higher content to earn more gold. On the contrary it is more profitable to do lower monoliths faster runs. Why would a player do Emp.Monos or Dungeons when he/she can run low monos non-stop and earn more gold and buy whetever is needed for his/her build?

I just loged in and did a few monos. You get around 4-5 times more gold from Empowered monos than from normal ones. The chest reward in empowered give 3k-6k gold, the chest reward in normal monos gives 600-1.5k.
Unfortunately corruption doesn’t seem to effect the gold reward, or if it did, it’s not obvious on just a few runs, but there is a significat difference between normal monos and empowered ones.

But your character is already geared for Emp. Monos? If a new player runs normal monos he would gear up faster (by buying things with gold) than trying to do Emp. Monos at much slower speed and with deaths. When I first played LE going from normal to emp. monos was quite a spike for me. I don’t know maybe that’s me…
Shouldn’t there be a challenge in game? If a player can buy all items that only drop from Emp.Mono bosses / dungeons with gold he farmed in Normal monos? And that is absolutely possible because the difference in gold drop is not that big between fast normal mono vs. slower Emp. Mono.

So farming a specific area to generate wealth instead of actually playing the game.?

First of all, by quoting not even the full sentence you are arguing to win here, not to discuss. The full sentence there tells that free market would balance it so you don’t have to follow one single method all the time. In addition, it is developers’ job to balance the rewards.

That being said, as you are trying to just “win” the argument instead of having a discussion, I won’t argue with you any more. Here is the harsh truth: I don’t care what you think, I am providing feedback to the developers. They will choose whatever they want, I will choose to play or not. Doesn’t matter who wins a forum argument. It is as simple.

Wouln’t dropping a special reagent / materials let’s call it …Primordial Stones which can only drop from Emp.Bosses / dungeon bosses etc (I mean high-end contentr) be a better solution? So we run EmpMonos for an item but if we are not lucky we at least get Primordial Stone. With 10 (or 20…) of Primordial Stone you can craft a unique you want. So you did earn that unique hard way by doing high end content which is a good thing. Another plus side is that you can farm any boss for those Primordial Stones. It is just an idea of course.
That way nobody can abuse speed running low-lvl monos and get bis gear.

Just no… with every toon I made I tried to get into emp monos asap because you get a lot more of everything there ^^. Emp monos aren’t that bad if you don’t play HC and even in HC you’ll end up farming htere just a tad bit later and with different gear.

The challange starts at 300 corruption before that point the only challanges are player errors.

that’s just wrong. You need to do ~5 normal monos to get the same ammount of gold from an emp mono.

You can only farm specific areas of a game while playing a game… wtf? That’s a new low ^^.

What is with non target farmable uniques? Can you craft all uniques you want with your idea or only the uniques that are dropedin the emp mono you got the currency from?

There was a similar idea with runes that destroy uniques and leave you with dust that is useable to by uniques. That’s pretty similar ^^.

Maybe, but a big selling point of the game was trading. It was advertised, it was being hyped up and without it, some players wouldn’t have even bothered to support the project (myself included).

was it? I remember them advertising the ‘Bazaar system’ and that was not about open trading

Honestly, I was hyped about the Bazaar, it sort of fit the game thematically. I don’t know if it would be better than open trading. What I know is that there are a lot of useless affixes and getting even a rare T19-20 with the stats you want is a chore, let alone an exalted item and with the nerf to the gambler, creating a usable starting gear is much worse.
I have not started a new character in ages, because I really don’t want to go through the frustration of trying to craft T18-20 rares with the current system.
