Last Epoch: Tombs of the Erased Patch Notes

Big ol patch, sounds fun

This going to be insane. Love the work guys!!

EHG: a question in regards to “Witchfire” passive and the “Downfall of the Righteous” relic:

the passive says if your have either Ignite Overloard OR Damned Overload, it will apply Witchfire to enemies within 15m
while the Relic says if you have both Ignite Overload AND Damned Overload, it will apply Witchfire to enemies within 10m only and that it cannot stack, while the passive doesn’t mention any stacking …

Is there some bad wording here, or is there some intention? Like, if it is intentional, then the relic’s part of applying the Witchfire is kinda … meaningless, no? Or if you want to use the application from the relic, then you could try to forgo the passive, but then you’re missing out on “Grimhilde’s Domain”, as it would boost Witchfire’s damage and needs 5 points prior from Witchfire passive …
Btw, which Witchfire would it boost? Are they equal?
Also, i think it was always this way, but is there a reason why the damage boost from “Ignite chance” is half of the damage from “Damned chance” on Grimhilde’s Domain passive?

They give more penalty to MG ( u already can’t sale the item u buy) now u pay more.
Are EHG hating MG that much?

The passive applies Witchfire once when you gain one of the overloads. The relic applies it every second while you have both overloads.

There is only one Witchfire, but 2 different ways of applying it. Much like there’s only 1 Smite but many different ways of having it cast (manually casting it yourself, having something else proc it) but they all benefit from (most nodes in) the Smite skill tree.

They were always different, because it’s a lot easier to get ignite chance.

No, they just don’t want RMT so they’ve dusabled p2p trading & the tax is to removr gold from the economy which is a good thing, it’ll reduce the effect of inflation.

Great work,cant wait.

Thanks

The passive applies Witchfire once when you gain one of the overloads. The relic applies it every second while you have both overloads.

So this would mean the application from the relic does nothing in terms of damage? Since you would cast enough spells to first get one Overload and let the passive apply Witchfire. Then you continue with another spell (or one that does both damages like Chthonic), which would give you the other Overload and the relic would want to apply the Witchfire effect as well … but the mobs already have the first Witchfire and they don’t stack, so what’s the point of trying to apply the one from the relic? I don’t see how it would work in that case, other than “refreshing” the former one maybe (but it already does so on its own …)? Which would also increase the effective “cooldown” of when you can apply a new Witchfire because it lasts 12s…

Kinda puzzled by this one… would make much more sense if the relic could increase maximum Witchfire applications to 2, so that you have some kind of ramping up damage:

  1. use spells to get one Overload
  2. first Overload applies Witchfire
  3. continue using spells to get 2nd Overload
  4. relic then applies 2nd Witchfire
would make more sense IMO, especially against single targets, because you can already apply Witchfire seamlessly with just the passive …

Because you have the overloads for 12s each, so for probably the entire duration of the monolith you’d have every mob within 10m (however far that is) getting cursed with Witchfire as you run around.

I’m not sure that really matters, since Witchfire is always going to do the same damage regardless of how it’s applied (either from the passive or the relic), so all mobs within 10m will permanently have Witchfire on them until they die.

#1 & 3 happen pretty much concurrently, since you don’t need spell A to apply ignite/damned & spell B to apply damned/ignite.

The relic is for clear not single target.

I am using an Intel B580 graphics card. I can play all the latest games with +90 fps on high settings, but since Last Epoch works with Direct 11, I can barely get +70 fps on an empty map in Last Epoch. Please integrate Intel graphics cards into the game, especially new graphics cards like B580. When I asked the AI why I was getting low fps, it said it was because the game supports DirectX11. I have 1k hours of gameplay, it is very annoying to have these problems with a B580 graphics card :frowning:

Patchnotes say
" Maelstrom

  • Now has 80% damage effectiveness per second (from 60%)."

On LE Tools it has just 40%. What will it be?

If it ticks twice per second and LEtools is pulling the added damage effectiveness per tick then they’re both correct.

“Added a new node which requires Shattering Blade, Weaponsmith’s Reprisal. Iron Blades have a 10% chance per point to be summoned as Forged Weapons instead. Max of 4 points.”

Typo here, Weaponsmith’s Reprisal requires Blade Assault.

“Perfect Riposte now also grants +2% critical strike chance per point. Maximum of 3 points (from 1).”

Still 1 point max according to the LETools calculator.

Am I crazy or does ctrl+f only allow you to find a post on this forum instead of finding the specific words you’re looking for?

Anyway, a question regarding arenas. The last time I played, nemesis, lizard, wizard, chests, etc could not spawn in arenas as far as I know (or at least was so rare I never found one). Has that been updated at all to make specializing in arenas in the weaver tree worthwhile? I did see that tombs can’t spawn in arenas so that’s one strike against an arena setup already.

If you’re on a desktop then ctrl-f twice will do that.
