There are more dungeon changes planned in the 1.2 patch update, as noted by Mike Weicker, a senior dev at EHG, on the LE Discord:

Q: Will we always have to run Julra every time we want to attempt a slam? What was the reason behind doing this?

EHG_Mike: The first round of dungeon improvements coming soon will not stop you from needing to do it each time. We do have more dungeon changes planned for 1.2 also though that will shake things up a little more.
