Why wouldn’t damage variance still happen on dummies? They’d need to code a new damage calc (or put an exception in for the dummies).
I’m so confused as to how you can figure out RF in POE with a statement like this “Because it isn’t. In PoE you have things like RF which can basically tank anything and craft on the very cheap so it’s relatively easy to keep progressing.” and somehow not anything endgame in LE. Because RF Doesn’t make you tanky at all, it is literally designed to kill you XD This pretty much told me everything after reading through all the posts and reply’s. You are simply failing to understand “Build Mechanics” to such a degree that it sounds goofy. Not being mean, but, take the advice and follow a build. After you find one you like, go a little further and actually attempt to understand how it works and why it works. If you do this enough, no content is unreachable. The limit to the game is yourself.
Note: LE you I can pretty much just buy from the shops for all regular mono’s. In Empowered is when you encounter more fine tuning of your character. As for reference, I was an original poe closed beta tester. I have a ton of experience in poe 1(21235 hours played) and now poe 2. Most of the “Mechanics” are crossover when it comes to calculations and understanding. It just sounds like you have taken bad habits from one game and implemented them into another. I have over 30 years of arpg gaming experience and transferring bad habits from one game to another is quite common. There is no shame in following a build guide to learn and become more knowledgeable.
Difficulty has many layers. You can achieve this by creating better progression. Like nerfing Imprints. Removing T7 affix drops early on from nemesis etc… like they just did.
Difficulty also is about monsters actually being unique and difficult. They gave Rift beast additional evolutions which is a good step. However what mobs in LE, I mean white mobs are difficult? None. Some white mobs might have damage overtuned doing Dot but that isn’t difficult.
In PoE 2 there are difficult white mobs. Hags kill you, literally one shot you no matter how strong you are if you don’t pay attention and don’t see their frozen water bubble and stand in it for to long. Your character drowns in an icy death. Several mechanics in PoE increase difficulty and make you pay attention. Creating a challenge.
In LE the corruption doesn’t really scale the difficulty very well and the mobs aren’t challenging in a mechanical sense. Now if corruption lowered your max resist to 50, reduced your healing and had difficult mobs. It would be challenging to push it.
LE really needs some work in increasing it’s difficulty so there are challenges and where progressions feels good. Hopefully this Season it’s better but still it has a long way to go.
That is because and I explained it in my thread here.
The game is designed around 700-1,000 corruption though. People will be in that range today. Since that is the sweet spot to farm gear. Not to mention your build is likely above 1k corruption if you are doing Ubers.
There are a plethora of builds designed to easy do 700-1,000 corruption. It’s not some milestone it’s the standard. It’s just an A tier build. S tier builds are doing 2,000+ corruption and are on a different level. However most builds should be getting to the standard 700-1,000 corruption. If a build can only do 500 corruption it’s definitely on the lower tier end like a C/B tier.
Every players goal should be to reach 700 corruption as a baseline since that is really where the game is balanced around as of now.
The game is boring because it has a progression problem and no real end game loop or reason to do an end game loop. I discuss this in great detail in my thread I linked. The loot just isn’t exciting and there isn’t reasons to keep farming.
The reason why players stay longer than a week is because this game is really good at build theorycrafting and people play 5-10 builds every season. That is one good thing going for LE but they need to solve their other issues.
cant wait hr and a half to go!
Talking form 1854h on LE, really love the game, been there since EA, inprint nerf is really bad especially for us COF and min maxers…I think I will try to survive with what I already kept in stash!!! anyway I want to play this season to really see by myslef the impact on the field. Good luck everyone ![]()
Honestly imprint system should likely go away. Better ways to solve loot and make it exciting and engaging.
I can agree with this though ![]()
At this point I’m almost certain the player you are responding to is just trolling, with some of the things they’ve said in the past and what they have said in this thread.
LE-52 cant login for 3 hours, guys anyone same?
Continuing the discussion from Last Epoch: Shattered Omens Patch Notes:
Lots of great stuff here! Can’t wait.
For real please put this back in. I like being able to actually see what keys and echos I’m picking up and transferring a fat stack all at once feels really good!
still getting memory leak crashes during the campaign, wasnt this supposed to be fixed this season?
The rogue’s animation changes are a complete disaster. This character already had problematic animations, especially when it came to archery, and now she runs around like an old woman with polyarthritis.
I rarely visit gaming forums, but the situation here is SO TERRIBLE that these animations are the only reason I came here. It feels like whoever made the animations for this character hates her.
It would be easier to write a full list of animation problems point by point than to describe everything, because right now ALL of this character’s animations look so eye-bleeding.
-
Why does she wield melee weapons like a right-handed person, but bows like a left-handed person? Doesn’t the development team know that right-handed people hold bows in their left hand? Or that bows are also available for both right- and left-handed players?
-
The game features a piece of equipment called quivers. The question is, why doesn’t the character draw an arrow from the quiver before firing an arrow when attacking with an archery weapon? Even Diablo 2 did this better. Not to mention Path of Exile, where this animation was truly masterful.
-
The character’s run after the patch. It’s honestly a nightmare. Whoever created this run animation deserved a whiplash to the spine instead of a paycheck. The previous one was much better. Now Rogue runs like a hundred-year-old grandmother with polyarthritis. The stride is too small, as if she can’t do more or straighten her leg. The stride width doesn’t match the running speed. She clearly doesn’t lean her torso forward enough, as if a grandmother can’t bend over. Why did they replace a good run animation with this pathetic mess?
-
When using Rogue’s Flurry skill, she strikes an extremely unstable, awkward pose. First, her right leg is extended very far out to the side. This should create a larger support surface, but her knee is buckled and dangles downwards during the animation, as if she’s about to fall. This pose alone is incredibly awkward and unstable, and when used for archery, it’s simply monstrous. Even worse than in Hindi films.
-
When using the Puncture skill, Rogue moves his right hip forward. Firstly, it’s completely unnecessary. Secondly, when a person pulls the bowstring, they try to push their body weight back, not forward. This movement resembles an extremely perverse form of the typical archery beginner’s mistake called aiming at the sky.
I raised this back in 0.8. It’s because the bow is the mainhand weapon which is the right hand.
It is clear that the bow is the main weapon, which is held in the main hand. But then why is the Rogue’s primary hand for melee weapons the right, but for the bow, the left? This is the most idiotic explanation I’ve ever heard…
A right-handed person will hold the bow with his LEFT hand, because a right-handed person will shoot with his RIGHT hand.
Yes, but they aren’t able to change where the mainhand weapon goes based on weapon type which is what would be needed was the point I was trying to make (but didn’t actually say).
What a ridiculous explanation. Yes, on the one hand, a bow is a primary weapon. On the other hand, all bows belong to a specific weapon class—bows. Why can’t we make such a rule for an entire weapon class? Okay. Fine. Whatever. Let Rogue be left-handed. Is it impossible to have proper animations in a game in 2026?
I think the Weaver Idol affix changes did not make it in to the patch notes.
E.g. 50% chop to the ele + minion ele res
