all top rankings have been done with 2 hand weapon + catalist or 2 hand wepon + shield
we need a full reset
Nerf during the season? I wasted time with this game, and what about the gold we spent to build? Disappointment with this game, in addition to putting up with all the lag, errors, disconnections, dupes. We still have to settle for nerf.
In my opinion there is no point in leaderboards in the current state anyways.
There are so many skills/items/passives etc. which are not working properly, not working at all or underperforming due to bugs.
This needs to be adressed first, followed by a big balance patch - then it would make sense talking about actual leaderboards in my opinion. I mean explode ballista is miles ahead of every other build atm anyways when it comes to dmg, so if you dont play the same build you wont be getting anywhere on the leaderboards. (my guess anyway, I dont really play arena)
Both of the bugs they fixed are significant bugs, not small ones. The difference between 4% and 40% is day and night, as far as the Runemaster is concerned.
The warlock and falconer were specifically mentioned in their post about why they would be doing a mid-cycle balance patch. If they only discovered the issue with the Runemaster after having written that, it shouldnt be that unexpected that it also made it into the balance patch given the severity of the bug.
They’ve also stated that the first Cycle is a bit of a test, and has to be; its a big part of why they have not implemented any additional rewards or features into it. It’s an early iteration intended for them to understand the biggest issues in the game, how players are reacting/playing, exactly what if anything requires these kinds of exceptions, etc. Since this is the first cycle, theyre still learning about how to handle these problems.
These kinds of issues are going to be less and less as they release more cycles, but nothing is ever going to be perfect the first time it’s done. They are not making sweeping balance changes: they are making fine tweaks to specific areas that are problematic.
They even stated that the issue with falconer wasnt going to be fixed until next cycle but was being done because it was causing server issues. Unless something is PARTICULARLY problematic, it will be left to post-cycle balance changes. They can’t just leave game breaking or server breaking issues alone though, just because its mid cycle
You seem to have a lot of insight on EHGs internal procedures, do you mind to elaborate a little on that?
They only changed it. It wasn’t a bug. you had the choice of buying or not buying and you made a conscious decision to buy. Refunds would make no sense.
I also encounter this issue. Only seems to happen to me after leaving a monolith.
Are the chaos bolts add-on to Cthonic Fissure supposed to work with fire whip/spine of maltros?
Is it supposed to remove the “necrotic” tag from cthonic fissure?
This guy wasnt allowed to watch spongebob as a kid guaranteed.
Glad My Ion Canon Immortal Paladin Build survived the patch!!
I wholeheartedly agree with you on almost everything you wrote, except the last paragraph:
“Unless something is PARTICULARLY problematic, it will be left to post-cycle balance changes” - The bugfix for warlock and runemaster was solely intended to reduce the power of those skills, they even stated that those skills have no impact on server stability at all - thats why they initially wanted to fix it after cycle and not immediately.
How these 2 skills performing too well in a mostly singleplayer PVE enviroment in the first ever cycle, which, as you stated, is something of a test ballon is PARTICULALRY problematic and needs to be adressed immediately is something i dont understand, but then again, im not EHG.
I just hope that mid-cycle changes will stay the exception and not become the rule.
Thank you for the patch EHG. I have been playing every day. The only bug I have encountered is rogue getting stuck in place after leaving a monolith. I can get unstuck by using a skill
They stated its an exception. Also, again, the difference between FOUR percent and FOURTY percent is not a minor bug. Hence my use of the words “particularly problematic”. A skill giving 100 times more stats than it was intended to is not a small issue. The other skill bugfixes mentioned are BUFFS not nerfs, and so could also be considered compensatory for this issue.
The same could be said for the single passive node for Runemaster: the intended mechanic is 15%, and if it was scaling with 15% per point thats 8 points meaning it’s scaling to 120%. Thats not a tiny difference in strength, that is a significant issue, which explains why it is being changed mid cycle. That is literally the definition of “particularly problematic” as far as balance is concerned
Start looking for a better ISP
Crow storms node that turns it into a traversal skill doesnt work. It does nothing.
Frequently when changing armor the resistances either dont show up in the character menu or they arent being added to your resistances, not sure which.
You can swap items in the inventory and eventually one item will become the other item, found this out on accident, lost the better item but not a huge deal.
When using the forge if you are in the affix selction screen and move your mouse off that menu it will close the forge completey or sometimes just the affix selection screen.
Sorry, no particular insight on EHG, I just follow patch notes and bigger issues I’ve had with the game. I was mostly talking about them and other developers and how they should prioritize these things. Which people can value a lot more. Smaller patches but with QoL or simple fixes just keep players more engaged with the game. Cause they simple can’t fix all the bigger issues that quickly, it’s unrealistic and someone going around fixing small stuff will likely get more things done that people will appreciate.
However, following the patch notes, they have fixed a lot of gameplay stuff in a big patch. Clearly they working on a lot of stuff, but if you don’t play that class or use those items, people get this perspective that they’re not fixing something or some interaction you specifically wanted. From last patch for example, I was one of the people that reported movement skills getting me stuck underground, while I haven’t played with that build again, I’m glad they fixed it. I doubt I was the only one that reported it, but it literally stopped me from playing it. But like for most people, no one cares. Now, Stash tabs? I’m not sure everyone cares but it at least affects everyone and it was a very simple change. Stuff like that people appreciate more.
Yes, you are right, these 2 bugs needed fixing, for the intent of balancing their (over)power.
I grinded to almost 2.3k while profane veil was in its former state, I have good to very good gear on my warlock. This 2.3k was my ceiling with the warlock in its former state and it took me a lot of time, effort and currency to get there.
I could not progress higher without very expensive and minuscule upgrades because the shade at that corruption level hits like a freighttrain and is very tanky (for me at least).
After the patch now I can still run the regular monoliths without dying too often and I can even beat the monolith boss if i dont get hit.
Shade however is something completely different, he oneshots me with every single ability he uses. And i am not pro enough to dodge everything and still do dps in a 3 minute fight, but thats ok, im happy where im at and glad i could push so high while it was still possible.
Now you look on the other side of the table and you see explode ballista players completely forgoing defenses and oneshotting entire screens in 3k++ corruption and having enough dps to kill the shade in short enough time before getting oneshot.
Now Im not saying that it did not take a heap of time and dedication for the players to get there, and im sure it takes a ton of skill to be able to progress further - but the same can be said about my efforts and dedication as well.
Now how come me struggling with 2.3k corruption pre nerf is particularly problematic and needs to be toned down while explode ballista players oneshotting the entire screen on 3k++ is not?
And no, I dont want their explode ballista to be nerfe…, sorry bugfixed! - I just used it to demonstrate that there is no real balance in this game yet, so this mid-cycle balancing was kinda pointless.
I stand with my opinion - no mid-cycle nerfs, let the people have some fun, its their time and effort after all that they put into the game. Especially since this is the very first cycle anyway.
Do the changes, especially the Veil nerf, apply to offline players?
Yes!
Hi Neto, Thx for the reply. I asked because I’m still getting the same ward values using Profane Veil. I played a fair amount today and didn’t realize the patch fix was out.
