Referring to a bug exploit as a “balancing issue” and downplaying it as a mere “balance/performance tweak” is absurd. Who are you afraid of offending here? Do you think your player base mostly consists of bug exploiters, and do you think if you fix those bugs, the game will lose players?
Leaving exploiters on the ladders and dismissing the negative impact on players’ motivation to compete on the leaderboards is irresponsible. Besides, relying on the leaderboard to identify bug exploits is f****** bs. The leaderboard serves as a tool for regular players to grasp the game’s meta and showcase their strategies and builds. It is not your monitor.
I don’t understand how people complain so much about fixing the price of keys. Obviously, someone is using this bug for profit,.
Merchant’s Guild should maintain the prices of items themselves. If the prices of items are too expensive for you, you should turn to Circle of Fortune. The only issue for me is the price of the stach space.
There’s 0 reward for placing high on the “leaderboard”.
There’s a lot of negative potential impact to be had on players who just play a build for fun or who invested substantial amounts of their own free time into a build they think is fun.
Powerful builds are fun. Whether or not it is an “exploit” or not is up to developers.
Usually, exploiting stuff is a bannable offence.
There’s 0 negative impact on your gameplay just because someone plays a strong build and is high on the leaderboard. There’s a lot of negative impact on (possibly) thousands of players who just play the game and don’t consider this exploiting or “bugabuse”.
They just want to play something that is fun to them.
You seem awkwardly enticed to reply to me. If you disagree just say it, otherwise I prefer you to enjoy your own company thanks. Sorry you are the one blade of grass that differs on the opinions of this thread, kudos to you, i can’t pat your bottom though.
Edit: you also 100% missed my point, you’re welcome to reread anytime.
I won’t argue whether the definition of an exploit is up to the developer or not.
However, I strongly disagree with the idea that these issues don’t affect regular players.
The current bugs present in the game completely disrupt the game’s meta. Players, myself included, enjoy playing with strong builds. However, there’s a clear distinction between a build being strong due to balancing issues and it being overpowered due to a bug. Many players won’t enjoy the latter gameplay experience.
For myself. I’ve dedicated 100 hours to my character, a RM build. The Hyrdrhedon build, which requires a deep understanding and significant farming time to achieve 400corruptions is very well balanced. However, the knowledge that there are builds capable of achieving triple the corruptions in half the time, or even less, completely ruins the experience for me.
Moreover, these issues significantly impact the game’s meta. As someone who grew bored with my RM build and sought a strong alternative within the meta, I found that resources like YouTube, Reddit, and leaderboards are mostly with overpowering exploit builds. Unfortunately, there are very few players in the community dedicating time to developing and discussing other viable builds or classes.
Considering that a regular build would likely achieve only half of the corruptions compared to these “overpowered” builds, it raises the question of why I would invest my time and effort into such builds. Additionally, why doesn’t EHG prioritize addressing the types of player motivation that aren’t centered around exploiting bugs?
Considering that this is a 99% online ARPG, it’s clear that “just wanting to have fun” cannot justify exploiting bugs.
Absolutely INSANE to allow these broken builds to persist. This is what people are going to say about LE, 10 years from now.
The ‘season’ has nothing to do with what’s going on right now. Warlock too, these people are farming 2k corruption. Why shouldn’t we all play and get 20x more items, and gear something else? This is a serious issue that should be fixed long ago!
Is this their way to get us excited for a new season? Get exciting, we’re going to fix our game and balance it!
Give me a break. And I know there are tons of people defending this decision, saying I’m crying or whatever. They’re bootlickers, or playing the class themselves.
I’m still playing for now, but this is a huge blunder, to let it go on. Some people don’t care about the ladder or arena, some do. Some care about their items and farming, and working on the market. Why would anyone farm with anything else than 100k ward?
This is honestly one of the dumbest decisions that will overshadow everything else whenever last epoch comes up in conversation. BALANCE is an important aspect for A LOT of people.
Great job.I’m glad about their plan. I am willing to farm in the dungeon, pick up all the drops, and put them in the stash. After filling all the stash spaces, filter out useful loots.
Well, I thought about it for a few hours and I’m not going to get mad about it, I’ll just turn my review back to negative. Why should I have a positive review on a game that Devs think it’s okay to let people exploit obvious bugs to farm 2k+ corruption while most people struggle to make other builds work in -1k? And just let that happen for a whole season? And let exploiters get a high rank in the leaderboards? LMAO. It’s a bit of a joke. It sounds like we’re being trolled. Honestly.
Literally first time I see any Dev ever saying: “Sure, go ahead and exploit, oh and the leaderboards will stay, it’s totally legit”.
I am perfectly good for nerfs mid cycle, especially for balance changes that are to correct things to work as intended.
In the past, we called abuse of non-intended bugs EXPLOITING and I know most people don’t want to hear it, but its unsportsman-like, and fixing these issues allows for a more balanced gameplay where everyone doesn’t feel forced to play the Flavor of the Month character or else they are wasting their time for not joining the exploit train.
Now, that said, I am only referring to clearly broken things. not necessarily clever players that thought of something you didn’t. Those things, that allow players an edge, but not a huge advantage, should stay and be patched out later, or considered as part of that things’ balance going forward.
Wrong! You guys made gold and create another char and joined merchant guilt and ruined the economy just a few days ago. Oh you pure innocent naive soul.
The leaderboard is not important to me. Bugs need to be fixed. However, even without any bugs, they cannot achieve 100% class balance. I pay more attention to my own build, and I hope they will focus more on expanding and strengthening the build of other classes.
I’m 100% with the devs. Once it’s released, it’s released. If it’s not balanced, then it’s not balanced. Almost never change the rules during a contest. You are the person that decided not to play Falcanor or Warlock. The rules are equal to everyone. The info is open to everyone. If you don’t like it, take a break for now. But if you change the rules now is like saying I made a bad decision, I give me more candies. In my opinion, not even the keys should be balanced. I’m fully aware that those keys destroyed my merchant guilt experience. Since they already fixed it, what’s done is done.
Everything will be addressed the next cycle when we all have the same info and agree on the same rules. Too bad it’s an unbalanced cycle. I understand. So let’s support EHG to work better to make the next cycle better.
PS I know human race. We will always find the next thing that is OP. Once you start, you can’t stop. It’s either nothing like D4 or everything like D4. Once you go D4 you can never go back. Your Choice.
you are right on this one. The tester issue can be a bit of a problem. But have you ever thought about one thing. Can you say, the most active mid-season fixer - D4 team is less corrupted than any other team? No. D4 is known for corruption. If you say bad things about D4, you are not invited to the nest Testing. In another word, which matters more?A stance, or the people? I think it’s the people that make the diff.
I could care less anymore. I will say it again. You need PoE to fail in order for this company to do anything. Look at Blizzard who was once untouched. They only care about what most companies care about. They made their millions and you think they care about your thoughts after purchising a yacht yesteday? I’m only playing the game because i’m bored, not because it’s good. Just waiting on PoE’s next league so this game will be of the past. Sorry EHG but you shouldn’t complain. You made millions off what none of us could do and that’s release a crap product that streamers have been hyping up for a few years.
