Last Epoch Patch 1.0.2 Notes

Shield Rush is still bugged.

There is a positive to EHG take on this. If a person spends 6 hours leveling a character to play a build they have no idea its bugged, should they be punished for lack of knowledge and lose their time investment? EHG has always has this stance and fix it next content release. This is why EHG is a good dev, why nerf fun away. This is what Wolcen and D4 never learned. If you nerf something, because its overpowered, people r going to be upset at the effort and time lost.

Bug fixes need to be fixed in cycle (they are not the same as nerfs)…otherwise you end up having a season like D4 where that sorc ball lightning skill bug was ruining every public event for everyone else playing the game.

I personally don’t have an issue with fixing the keys or the tomes, but I do think the mid-cycle balances should happen, especially if they’re bugs. However, there are a lot of bugs that were introduced on launch that should be prioritized, and if these balances happen to not get addressed until the next cycle because other bugs were getting fixed first, then that’s fine with me. But please consider at least fixing bugs that cause balances even if it is mid-cycle.

Thank you for working hard on fixing the bugs!

Its not the same thing, this isnt d4 nor is the game open world. It only affects leaderboards, and honestly, who cares about that???

As a CoF-only player, why is my gold income getting nerfed only because MG players are abusing this? This doesn’t look like “no balance changes during a cycle”.

As someone who has zero interest in cycles and leaderboards I find it incredibly frustrating that we need to wait months for balance patches solely to maintain the “integrity” of some internet leaderboard in a videogame.

There are so many skills and builds that have been left behind in terms of strength, and the fact that we’ll have to wait for a cycle to be over for underperforming builds to get stronger will limit build diversity in the long run.

Game balance and how fun your game feels to play should take priority over the integrity of an ephemeral leaderboard in a game where the competitive aspect is not at all integral to the experience. Right now it feels like the leaderboard is taking priority over that, and that doesn’t feel good.

Please change this stance.

I would like to see BUGS fixed asap, even during mid-cycle if they are gamebreaking. For example profane veil.

Seems i cant complete Soulfire bastion after the patch. Gets stuck on “find the licht” and the enterance to next area blinks but i cant enter it.

Exactly, there has to be another solution from a graphical standpoint, or making the clouds despawn when your player hasn’t been near them in x amount of time, besides just nerfing it.

Plenty of people do…and just because you don’t doesn’t change the fact that bugs left unattended affect the game negatively.

Long time ARPG player here, but a new Last Epoch enjoyer. Seems like I may have an unpopular opinion about this one… I actually think that the Profane Veil/Bone Curse interaction is exactly the kind of cool stuff you want to find in an ARPG. With new content, there should be new interactions to explore AND abuse honestly. Any theory crafter will tell you that having a hunch, connecting the dots and then being right about it, is the best feeling. I think you are right to leave interactions like this until the next cycle because if you removed every “unintended interaction” each season then there would be nothing to hunt for, we would play the same builds over and over. HOWEVER, server stability adds complexity to these issues. You have to do what’s best for server up-time, and I think we can all understand and appreciate that. PS, you guys are doing great and I hope the salty players don’t get under your skin too much.

Its not for balance though, its an actual literal bug. Also this makes them no different from blizzard because this is exactly blizzards stance and it feels awful in D4 too.

That’s not what this is. The node gives 40% when it’s supposed to give 4%. It’s a bug that should be fixed. Not some theory crafted interaction that wasn’t anticipated.

Just going to add my votes:

  1. IMO it’s okay to nerf bugged out skills

  2. Nerf to XP tomes and arena key sell prices make the game a lot more tedious to me.

Literally garbage take on things EHG, extremely dissapointed, not fixing clearly broken bugs and exploits, “we won’t nerf things mid cycle” then actively nerfs things mid cycle. You effing hypocrites. These clear and blatant exploits and bugs should be FIXED and the respective class ladders should be PURGED of anyone using that build or purged entirely for a full reset of that class ladder. Anyone who actually cares about the ladder will put in the work to get back to their spot if they can or are even competent with their class. Bugs and exploits should never be tolerated on a ladder.

Except this isnt whats happening, its a literal coding error. They did the math wrong. The interaction is correct but the way it plays out is not.

Also they are hurting their game because whats going to happen is these warlocks playing at 2000 corruption will play next season and will get hard stuck at like 300 corruption and wont enjoy the game as much anymore because they wont be getting the drops they were, their dopamine goes down, and they will play less time. After you play a game like this with godmode it will never feel the same again.

Profane veil should be nerfed.
The Sentinel’s Healing Hands ward-gain being affected by Healing effectiveness needs to be looked at in the same way, since paladins can easily facetank everything and go over 64k ward in seconds.

Just give like a weeks notice before nerfing those builds, so people can choose to not invest time into those “builds”, or quickly abuse it while its still there.

No skills should be changed mid-league, that is the current way to do it. Correct choice.

It’s not an “unintended interaction”, the tooltip says 4% of minion life as ward but gives 40%.
You think I should enjoy the game by trying every node on every skill tree to find the one with a hidden zero added ?
