Last Epoch needs to learn from Diablo 4 mistakes

Diablo 4 started off great; the gameplay was fantastic, and the classes were strong and enjoyable. Unfortunately, the developers of Diablo 4 believed that players were having too much fun and decided to hit the game with such a strong nerf that it completely ruined most of the enjoyable classes. We witnessed the devastating result with the decline of Diablo 4. Last Epoch needs to avoid this mistake; instead of nerfing the strong classes, they should consider buffing the classes or skills instead.

Thats powercreep in a nutshell and is the most stupid thing a dev can do from my point of view. The devs said at one point they consider 300 corruption the endgame. 300 corruption back then are like 150 corruption right now. Now they say 300 corruption right now is considered endgame. Now take a look where builds are right now.

Those builds are not fun they are gamebreaking and yes they are fun for 5 minutes untill they completely ruin the game because NOTHING is a danger anymore or everything dies in a split second.

I hope the EHG devs learned a lot from D4 mistakes and bring all builds DOWN where they should be considering 300 corruption is called endgame and not 2000.

Just my opinion, I rather have the 2000 corruption with borderline broken builds. Rather than 300 corruption with the fun build sapped out of their power, they will lose more players and casual this way.

No, they shouldnā€™t do that. We donā€™t need 5 overpowered classes instead of 1.

And Diablo 4 is incredibly easy now so Iā€™m not sure what youā€™re talking about. The 1.1 nerf was only that one time, everything else has been made to make the game easy since then. So easy that thereā€™s no challenge at all anymore. And they havenā€™t had any success since then.

I believe they learned over the past years from games like Diablo, PoE and whatnot. I think they kept an eye on gamers feedback regarding gameplay, trading, economy and long term satisfaction playing a grinder.

I have had my fair share of gaming experience and compared to other games they started off really nice IMO. Feels like a combination of most games out there.
Even the forum posts arent like the ones D4 had when they released. D4 had so much content(Qol) missing ppl knew and liked from past Diablo games that they suggested in the forums bringing it back.
Ppl shouldnt forget its a grind fest. You want things handed to you on a silver plate?! Go ask your mom. XD

Also its easier to nerf one op class than buffing all other classes and the whole game (story/bosse) to get some balance. Its different if it was just pvp.

If you look at the player base stats, Diablo 4 lost most of its concurrent player right after the first huge nerf.

Thatā€™s not the only reason why. Of course itā€™s a coincidence because the game just released and people decided not to play anymore after a short while. If they were only upset because of the nerf, they would have gone back.

The only thing related to Diablo 4 that I could see in this game right now is the Bazaar, which is being loaded with so many new items versus items being purchased that it could cause some serious server issues. I know that each teleport to the bazaar bodies me even at 1 in the morning because I feel like its loading the stall of every player that chose Merchantā€™s all at once.

I remember watching some of the most popular Diablo 4 streamers, they were complaining that the nerf made their hard earned build completely unplayable. So they decided just to quit for good instead.

The campaign was fun and exciting. Not the worst $70 spent for 30 hours of fun.

ā€œDiablo 4 started off greatā€ ugh I stopped reading hereā€¦

This isnā€™t currently a problem. Why are we willing it into existence? Lol.

That was a timing thing and the nerfs were to much for some people. I had 0 issues playing the game in a nerfed state because it was in a good place. The D4 community in my eyes is a bunch of crybabys used to the stupid levels of powercreep from D3 mostly.

D4 lost a lot of people because they did the wrong stuff at the wrong time and fail to deliver meat and only offer sucked dry husks of bones.

If there is a said goal what endgame is then it should be balanced arround it heck even add 100 corruption on top if you tryhard and outger the content by running LP3+ gear but right now I hold down rightclick and still facetank content that should oneshot me or would oneshot me on other classes. This isnā€™t fun and brings me to a point where I look at LE and I think ā€œWhat aboring clownfiesta of a game!ā€. Seeing people casualy farming 1k corruption without even loosing half their ward is so sad to see. People exploding on of the hardest bosses in under 2 seconds is so sad to see. 1 build beeing able to do almost everything better then every other build is so sad to see.

You know why itā€™s sad? Because itā€™s proof of the state the game was released in and how big of a consturction site it is. I wish I could love LE like it is but so far, after all the hours I played, itā€™s rather dissapointing at some points that make the brilliant design the game have seem to be less brilliant and everything is some kind of washed down experince where Iā€™m able to play the game slamming my keyboard against the wall.

D4 still is greate when it comes to animations, how godly it is to play and how smooth combat is. Not the worst 100ā‚¬ I spend on on gaming ever. Still I hope they get better soon because I want D4 to be a good game and me to be happy and hyped when a new D4 season starts.

This game has all the quality of life stuff I love. Inventory management is awesome, thereā€™s a search function, no pay to win stash tabs. Itā€™s easy to utilize the crafting system, Iā€™m actually enjoying making new characters and trying them out. This is nothing like D4 and I love that.

D4 tried to be a mini MMORPG and failed. Last Epoch is just trying to be the ARPG everyone loves. I have no issues with that.

Donā€™t know what game you played but D4 did not start off great. Aside from the cool graphics and fluid combat is was just an absolute borefest. The nerf patch was just the cherry on top as it did not fix a single thing and made an already boring game even worse.

No, they donā€™t try to be the game that everyone loves. And that is a good thing.

The people who want to please everyone usually fail miserably, because to do so, one has to lack a real identity.
