I don’t know how the verification process of kickstarter to steam to le forum works, so I can’t comment ont this.
But throwing around with terms like scam, while this very likely only is some misunderstanding or account issue is something that I absolutely despise.
I am sure with a small amount of effert this would get clarified and sorted out.

I couldnt make any sense what your problem is. But I’m quite happy with backing this kickstarter (though there are certainly some things I feel they can do better for KS backers).

I’m confused. They can’t give you a key because u already own the game, so they are saying they can gift that game to a friend of yours. Isn’t that the same as getting a key?

I too backed this game before it was on steam (had its own launcher) and I was 400% not scammed. I received a barrage of emails from them at the time, about how to convert to my steam key so I could continue playing.
Buying the game again because you didn’t think to email them prior to re-buying is just flat out impatient. There’s a whole-ass process developers have to go through to get keys for their own games on steam. Not to mention when the game gains some exposure how those keys also end up beind sold on crappy sites like G2A. Hence the better-than-nothing option to gift it to someone.
I’ve gone off left field here but you were not scammed but it sounds like you didn’t try too hard till it was possibly too late?

not sure what the issue is i too got in early i got in before they went steam i had no issues well ya the same issues everyone else has too many people trying to play …lol

You misunderstand, I did not buy the game because I was impatient. I backed at the kickstarter to receive the key for the game at release (so that would have been on the 21st of february) but I wanted to try the game before that so I bought it in early acces on steam a little more then a week before it came out (planning to give the key I would receive to a friend who does not play Arpg’s except with me). When I backed on kickstarter there was no mention of not being allowed to purchase the game on steam. Me owning it should not matter, I was to receive a key for the game and now I don’t get one because I bought the game? And also I did send them an email and also send them proof of my kickstart payment, their response was we are not giving away any keys at this point, I don’t want the to give away a key, I paid for it!
Then they responded that in my case they would transfer my game (the one I bought before release) to another steam account, at first I misread it and thought they would then give me my kickstarter key, but no.
I did not back at the level that I could play early access, so at the time I bought on steam I didn’t have a reason to contact them as I knew I wouldn’t receive the key untill full release.
That’s what I thought at first but no, it turns out they wanted to transfer my game on my steam profile to another, didn’t even know it was possible, but they asked for my steam id and my friends steam id!
Are u sure it was not just a misunderstanding of transfer your game to your friend? Like transfer the the key they supposed to give you to a friend instead of to you? Either way idk, I hope that you work that out and you and your friend are able to play soon.
So you buy on kickstarter a pack that includes a copy of the game at the 21st February 2024.
You decide to no to wait that long and buy it still, now having the game. I quote you
So what do you expect the developers to do? Magically adding a second copy of the game into your account? they offered you that you can gift the game to a friend. That’s totally fair.
What do you expect them to do please?
This is technically impossible. NO developer/publisher can take your license from account A to account B. They can not!

I’m sure the whole team is working on getting the servers up to snuff with the influx of weekend players. 260k. Give them time, the game is great and worth supporting 100% in my book.
They did not offer that, if they did I wouldn’t be here to complain! No key was offered to me and no key was given to my friend either!
Did we even get keys? Thought we just linked the LE accounts with steam?

I understand that, and if they would have told me in their response to my email that they would look into it I would have been more then happy to wait, but they didn’t, only that they’re not giving away keys.
I received mine as did others commenting here.
Id send them a copy of the kickstarter and say you need a key for it.

Ok I get it now. You bought a $10 traveler supporter which comes with the game at release, but you bought another key on steam so you expect to have 2 keys now - one of which you can freely give away.
Well, all I can say is tough luck buddy. The traveler supporter came with its own kickstarter perks (copy of game at release, traveler forum badge and 100 cosmetic points) and you buying another key to play prior to release is your own call and the keys dont stack.
I am also a KS backer, and an alpha backer, and 2x beta backer - these would have given me FOUR keys. But I also don’t get to share the keys with my friends - I ONLY get ONE copy of the game. I don’t think having a policy where you cannot break up the perks for different editions of the game is a particularly controversial one.
PS: calling this a kickstarter scam over $10 is also rather amusing.

Forget about the scam, you might be saving your PC. My GPU runs at a cool 70 degrees playing all other games in highest settings, yet on the lowest settings in LE it is sitting at a constant 90+.
The game is literally frying PCs and nobody knows it yet because 99% of the playerbase hasn’t been able to reach end game. And this will not be fixed.
It took them 5 years to ‘fix’ Lagon, aka giving up and just putting two tentacles out in the open. So these graphics issues will never be fixed. They already got the big payload, they have no incentive to do any decent patches since everyone will leave no matter what for PoE when it comes out, or even a crappy D4 expansion.

If your GPU runs too hot just lower the power target or underclock. The game might be badly optimized but it doesnt cause your GPU to run over their designed power target.
