Keeping performance in check with projectile rich builds

For thousands of years I lay dormant… Its time to start pouring my feedback onto here.
After a successful campaign with the obviously powerful Judgement Paladin, I have moved to playing a Sorcerer using Frost Claw Nova build, a very visually noisy build in the game.

Now, I haven’t played this build recently, and it might not directly tie into the new graphical changes that were implemented in LE at 1.2, but it seems like the punishment for having illumination for every single projectile takes a giant toll on performance.

I’m running an absurd system for this game with a Ryzen 9 9950X3D CPU and an RTX 4090 graphics card, and while in visually calm builds my 120FPS lock works like a charm (at the end of the day, i do care about shaving power consumption where i can), once the Frost Claw Nova fireworks show starts, it gets pretty bad.

Some gameplay:

Despite turning all my settings to very low on any illumination and shadow related thing, performance can still take a dive, and in extreme situations dip well below 50FPS. I can’t begin to imagine the situation using more pedestrian hardware.

Please, EHG, do consider a way to give us a bit more control over complexity and visibility of our skill effects in the future. Consider giving us knobs that will let us go even as far as giving our skills 0 visibility, hence not needing to even render them (a great case for it can be seen in the game Soulstone Survivors, where the visual noise gets so intense in later-game, that putting that value on 0 and simply watching enemy HP bars is a perfect telegraph of spell indication)

Thanks.

“Volumetric Lightning” setting Ultra?

Very Low too. Essentially there should exist a setting below it that drops the logic from all the illumination projectiles do
