The characters are always either too squishy or not enough dps
I keep making new characters hoping that RNG will be better but
finding bases to craft on with affixes I want seems impossible.
So I get bored of dying and go make another character hoping this time it will be better.
This is why I have so far 12 characters lvl 6 to 84
I wanted to try the falconer but from the start rogue felt so weak as i died to the first group of monsters and I gave up trying with it after the flying boss in the first area killed me a bunch of times.
Thorn Totems build is my best one so far and I got it to level 84 but now stuck finding resistances and dpsā¦ so cannot progress again.
It seems thereās a wall up that I canāt get over to get into empowered monoliths
the only one I tried to make myself was a fire aura build but same issue in the end, was super tanky early and crushed the game till about lvl 50 then squishy and dps issue and can;t find items to use for bases to craft on so I gave up
I agree the game doesnāt tell you enough about your DPS and defensives to make good gear choices without alt-tabbing and calculating. Itās very easy to miss good upgrades in this game if you havenāt got a lot of experience.
Have you tried a void knight autobomber? I have a level 80 VK and am breezing through level 90 monolithsā¦this is the 3rd VK Autobomber I have played and have found the gearing to be fairly easy. Sometimes you may need to tweak guides to suit the gear you currently have, but you will eventually find gear that suits your build. I also recommend tweaking your loot filter as you level up, and focus it on gear upgrades that you need, rather than just the stats on gear for the build guide you are following. Just my 2 cents, good luck, and have fun.
You died to the three fire bugs you can kill in seconds by holding Q? How?
I started with a Warlock and for whatever reason I donāt find dmg gear but I still can progress empowered monos without issues.
My alt a smite paladin rips through everything with the power of smite alone but in combination with healing hands itās bonkers even without the most likely buged ways to generate ward.
I think you maybe want to to go over the game basics again so you understand how everything works or you play a class with a good ward mechanic because ward is somehow completely busted again like years ago. Well at least if you donāt mind the feel of beeing exploity.
With emp monos starting at 100 corruption itās a big step from normal monos to emp monos and just donāt go there if you need gear and farm the parts you need to cap your resis at least and even better your crit avoidence/reduced crit dmg taken as well.
Without a builder link itās hard to tell where the problems are at.
made another rogue this morning and now level 30 and am at the Harton quest but keep dying, its frustrating as heck to say the least so about ready to quit playing it, might try making another void knight.
I hate how you go from feeling squishy and weak to powerful then squishy and weak again, especially with lack of items that I can actually use. There is way too much items for other classes dropping.
If I collected every single item that dropped on every build I made, then maybe I could put together a decent build? lol
I mean, gonna be real here, how you]'re interacting with combat is monumentally flawed based on your post. Itās actually impossible to die to the first group of enemies in the game, they dont do enough dps to outpace your health regen and endurance. You need to have pulled 8+ of them together, and sit there doing nothing, to die to them.
Based on this, iād suggest trying to play the game a bit slower, approach it like grim dawn, or very early poe.
I mean its also because you might be pulling too much. When i say its impossible to die to the first pack in the first zone, i mean they literally cant do enough dps to kill you if youāre afk.
You are extremely weak in the early game. Honestly I think the starting zone enemies are too strong for what tools players have available in new cycles (read no tools).
Basically the game use to start almost immediately in the ruined era. Then they greatly expanded the beginning zone to what it is now.
You really got to stick with a character until specialization choice. It basically where you upward spiral in character power begins in the campaign. Until then you are at the mercy of what loot drops.
The game is a good time up until you hit empowered monoliths and then if you donāt have double T5 affixes on your weapons youāre SOL and will hit like a wet noodle. I think that the only workaround is find a build that has a unique weapon that you can use and make sure you get that before the build goes online. The fire necro 2-hander is pretty easy to get and that build can do really good damage, just need to make sure to not get hit in higher corruption
I leveled two now.
One pre-release, hit 60 easy. Litereally one button. Did the Allie build and did Devouring Orb and Anomly + Warpath. Campaign was a breeze. Lagon in story took 3 tries. Got it on the third.
Started a Werebear and itās just weak or something. Figured Iād try out VK again on release.
With some random and trash gear I found while leveling and using the same garbage from lvl 15ā¦ I made it through story. Face tank everything. Lagon and Majasa, legit just stand in front of them and hold Smite.
I just have to figure out what scales damage. This game doesnāt make sense to me compared to PoE. PoE made too much sense. It was logical. This gameā¦ scales somehow, but I canāt see numbers or make sense of anything.
