I’m trying to get an item from empowered monolith Lagon and I’ve killed him five times without seeing it. I’m just curious what kind of a grind I’m in for.

Thank you, but I don’t think so? It says the item is a rare drop but they don’t have drop percentages or anything like that.
I don’t think the actual drop rates of those 2 are known. Maybe someone can datamine it. You just have to keep at it. Or, if you’re MG, just buy it from the bazaar.

Which one is it? Is it the Empowered Only drop (Eye of the Storm) or the Rare drop (Stormcarved Testament)
I don’t have exact drop rates, but from my experience in farming and killing that boss a lot I would say Stormcarved Testament is roughly 5-10 Boss kills on average and Eye of the Storm is more like 15-20 boss kills.
But %inc item rarity does increase drop chance for rare drops, so waht you want to do before fighting the boss:
Have decently high corruption and stack at least 2 enemy modifiers that don’t have the boss fight to difficult for you but still give good %inc item rarity.

Funnily enough, that works for most items but not the 2 rare lagon ones.

Btw. in the beta rare meant roughly 5% (which could further be increased by rarity as mentioned above) and I wouldn’t be surprised if they change drop rates within a cycle.
Because it is not the drop rate, it is the reroll chance, which only applies to random drops.
If the game decide to roll that particular item or affix it will have a chance (reroll chance) to roll again and if it doesn’t hit it again it will get reroleld into a different less rare item/affix
