Dear developers, I write this with great respect and with the most sincere wishes for success for everyone and for Last Epoch.
My feedback here is about the frequency of the game’s updates and how this can be detrimental to the game, considering all the releases and announcements we are seeing on the market.
I see LE as a timid game, which has a lot of potential to be the “main game” for an entire community (myself included), but it “hides” between the release intervals of other games (PoE and D4), which means I can’t delve into it as much as I would like. In these last few months I ended up playing it more and in this “season” reset I continued playing with my character and I’m loving what I’m discovering in it.
You guys do incredible things in the game. When you release something, you can bet it’s good. It’s a good addition to the game, but the timeframe in which it’s released is very spaced out. I understand that what you do only has the level of delivery that it has due to this time, but I think (personal opinion) that new features should be released between cycles 1.1 and 1.2. For example, this reset we had in September could have been announced as a new cycle introducing lizards and legion events.
I know you might not want to convey the message that LE cycles are cycles with few new features, but it might be that releasing simpler cycles between major updates would be better to keep the game fresh and on people’s minds. The same goes for cosmetics. Invest a little more time and effort in them. Personally, I didn’t invest anything in D4 cosmetics, but I’m willing to spend money on LE because, to me, it’s worth it, even though the basic looks for the gunners are cool.
I just wanted to say this to you guys, don’t be shy, you’re excellent and you can do things in a very meticulous way, follow your roadmap with the big updates but don’t stop releasing new things in between. Don’t worry if some people will say “this LE cycle was ‘weak’” because people say the same thing about PoE, D4 and even more so because they classify the seasonal teams as “good teams” and “bad teams”.
Those who like LE will keep playing, those who play sporadically will come back and test it. The least that can happen is that they will continue to be sporadic and the most that can happen is that they will become part of the player base.
As I said above, much success to everyone and keep up the great work!
