Its nothing wrong with this fight. Maybe the problem is, that the game before the fight ist pointless in difficulty, and then comes lagoon, a mechanical boss fight. Have a good life pool, max allres and some kind of movement speed. and then look what the boss and the abilities do. im pretty sure you can learn the fight in 3-4-5 attempts.^^ There is nothing to do with this boss and his mechanics.^^

The first time I fought him, he was cheesy and locked all but one of my wolves outside the fight.
The 2nd time, I just spawned them inside.
The room with the waves did not really seem that bad, I am new to the game as of a few days. I was just using Fury Leap to get from tentacle to tentacle while my pets did the real work.
Oh lord, whoās going to tell them about P2 Majasaā¦
Never played LE before, got it from 1st try ez. The thing that I maxed all ele res and crafted my items few locations before might have helped.
I honestly think the waves are fine. Itās a sustainability test and your builds need to have an answer or you need to be mechanically really good. Itās good design, keep it.
I just got finished beating it with 17 Lightning Res and 23 Cold Res. New Lagon is a breeze compared to the old, buggy one.
Itās just the beginning. The community will find every bug, every glitch, every error and instability. And surely enough people will soon realize that they didnāt fix much of the old stuff they did.
PS> Lagon is a problem since itās created, one of many introduced every patch.
The only curious thing is, how can a developer introduce problems every patch, and leave some of the problems eternally.
Iām a pretty āmehā player, without the checkpoint system Iād never have reached maps in POE for example and after reading this thread I was pretty convinced Lagon would end my LE experience since I was certain Iād never beat him.
But I did, two deaths during the start of P1 seeing the pretty easy and well telegraphed mechanics, I hit P2 and to begin with had no idea what I was supposed to do and spent some time killing the adds before realising it was tentacles again. P2 over back to the main event and he went down.
Now maybe I had the eZmode build, Marksman without using any of the mastery skills, but with Shift, Cinder Strike, Puncture, Ballista and Acid Flask at 17, my Ballistas ensured I had an almost limitless supply of healing, Shift also healed me and with Immunity I was able to run through the waves when I misread their pattern while the Ballista chipped away at his health until I was able to retarget and plink away.
I crafted as much Increased Fire Damage, Damage Over Time and Physical Damage and just spammed Cinder Strike, tossing out Ballistas and Acid Flask traps as needed ā¦ very hectic but hey, I get to see Act 9 when I thought I would never do do.
I discovered that you can hide behind the rocks on either side of the fight.
This allows you to completely avoid his cold spray but you will occasionally get hit by the claw. This is great for ranged abilities.
Please tell me how. I canāt even last 5 seconds in this fight. Itās light-years harder than any content that comes before it in the campaign.
My friend who just started playing last Friday beat Lagon with me on Hardcore our first attempt so obviously it isnāt that bad. He was worried about the fight though due to general chat keep saying how they ripped to it.
The fight is doable, but Lagon is a God and is unforgiving. If you donāt avoid his big attacks, you will likely die.
I literally moved around the whole fight and summoned mobs.
The build i was trying to do was very close/almost identical to this one:
Honestly Lagon is not hard. It is not a skill check, it is a resistance and health check more than anything.
Lagon is fine as is. Getting hit? Get better. Low resistances? Get more. I died about 8 times before I beat him the first time. No videos. Just had to figure out why I couldnāt beat him. Easy.
Lagon is love.
I wonder if the OP finally beat him after all of these tips, or if he finally decided to cap resistances and get more HP lol
I hate to be one of those guys, but ive fought Lagon now on Acolyte (nec and warlock) and mage (runemaster).
My nec 3 shot the boss and I never got to the 2nd part, and my warlock sleep walked through the fight. Easy as pie.
I hate to be one of those guys as these kind of responses normally drive me nuts but honestly, after beating lagon on a runemaster with low resistances and still had no real trouble killing Lagon.
What is it about the fight that people struggle with?
When your only ARPG experience is Diablo IV, having to deal with mechanics must be rough.
Lagon is totally fine IMO.
If you have problems with it, look up a video for the mechanics and learn them.
Itās not a hard boss if you know what to do.
Cold and light res is a must if you struggle with it, but its not required if you dodge the mechanics.
