I've made my first ever build guide and feedback would be appreciated

So first and foremost, here is the guide. https://www.lastepochtools.com/build-guides/jaspers-searing-pride-tempest-strike-earthquake-beastmaster

I’d like feedback on how it is written and what you think of the build. I imagine there are a ton of things that I could do better.

I plan to add in a levelling section once the cycle refresh happens as I’m going to try and cycle refresh this build and document my findings.

The only other things I can think of is adding suggestions for the expensive 3lp rings until you have farmed up enough to get them, and alternative items to use until you get the mandatory unique’s.

If you are some one that follows guides and would like further information when following them, please let me know so I can improve my guide. If you write guides yourself, please let me know any tips or tricks so I can improve this one.

Thanks.

Thanks for your contribution with this build guide.
I’ll probably even try this after the reset, since I love Earthquake, especially with the Seismic Tide node. But I’ll probably convert it to fire, since I never really tried it, always go pure physical or /lightning. Wouldn’t it be nice with that Staff? :star_struck:

In regards to the guide itself. The only good suggestion I could think of is that you should probably want to put something more explicitly saying the build/guide is better tailored for late game. I know you said that in between the text but maybe putting it in the title could “improve” it somehow, at least how people perceive it… Maybe at least you get the leveling-part-guide setup I’d say.

I don’t mind it, at all. I can just work around and do things until I get the build going.
But I’ve seen some less experienced players coming to the forums to complain about having difficulties at following a build guide from scratch, when the guide was intended for a late game experience.

Here’s an example of one of those, but I’ve seen plenty like this: Let's talk about build guides

Hope that helps. Cheers!

Thank you for your suggestions.

I think the main things I need to add are alternate items that aren’t gated behind Abberoth and and suggestions for lower LP uniques.

I did try the fire conversion Earthquake but it ended up being lower DPS, I think this is due to how much generic %increased damage you get from aspect of the shark that a mix of physical and fire ends up being better.

I suppose the other thing to add is that I play MG, it is in the guide but not until near the end.

Well written and easy to follow. I just have strong feelings on Tempest Strike being relegated to “Strike.” lol

Well done and like F0lk said, great to see new build guide additions for unique playstyles!

I would love to see some mono clearing video footage.

I’ve added a quick video showing a 900 corruption mono. It’s not the fastest but I still think it’s fairly respectable.
The video has been added to the guide but here is a direct link.

One thing you should do (and this is because there was a recent thread about this) is to either make a disclaimer that you need a Nihilis (Legendary to boot) or add an alternative to it in the gear section.
Because most people won’t have one or have a character to farm one with.

Looks promising

Been away from LE for a while so I’ve only just seen your post. Very nice. I’d be keen to see your build planner if you still have it as my damage on earthquake caps out at 3.9 million and I’m interested to see what you have done differently.

Looks like you’ve taken the fire conversion and it’s working out nicely.

I’ve had good success pushing 1000 corruption with just a health+armor version. Clear is a bit meh but bossing is too easy. Except for a slight bug when the char sometimes stops using tempest strike after EQ (I guess because it isn’t a true 0 mana cost skill?).

Old Planner(first reached 1K): https://www.lastepochtools.com/planner/oyW5OrnQ
New with upgrades: https://www.lastepochtools.com/planner/AVbKbdlA

Health based is such a pain as you need to push high life rolls on every slot. Less than 4K Health is prone to oneshots(at high corruption) even with high armor + capped endurance. Aspect of the Boar is clutch though and IMO every melee should have something like this.

Big DPS: https://imgur.com/a/jiu1AGX

This is Wolf buff + Frenzy totem + max shark/berserk + 20 throne and 103 Jasper stacks (second build planner gear)
Despite being only half fire, Throne actually adds substantial damage in my testing. Tooltip also doesn’t consider Doom+ shattered chains and more damage to chilled AFAIK so it can be somewhat improved by speccing Totemic fury and changing rings/belt with something like Sunwreath but these are worse for true damage. You can also try to proc the more damage on low life with Exsang+Last steps but its actually difficult while maintaining stacks as Shark’s LGOH gives sooo much.

I used my 2LP Jaspers for another build which is arguably weaker than this one but still fun and actually a Spellblade making use of the +skill mods (The block seems very niche for most uses of this staff and would be better swapped for parry chance maybe although Forge guard actually uses the block chance). A 2 LP could probably push 6.5 mil tooltip but I need to farm…

I was also trying to fit in a Carcinization of momentum and actually have one with life/phys res but it drops me to 97% crit chance which is unacceptable IMO (feels really bad if EQ misses crit).
