Hi!
Any ideas about incorporate into the game a PoE-like system of unique exchange through vendor. For example, you collect 5 unique items of the same type with 1 LP, give them to the nearest vendor and have a chance to get an item with 2LP. In that case unique items with no LP or with bad rolls would not cost 0 on the market and would have some value because players could buy them for a chance to get a better item. The other candidate are idols, where you can exchange them for an idol with better stats.
Hello and welcome to the LE forum.
I really like giving duplicate uniques more value.
But generating Uniques with LP, that are not dropped directly is something I don’t want to see.
I think using duplicate uniques for giving the opportunity to reroll the affix values of a uniques would be much better.
E.g. X Nubmer of duplicate uniques with 1LP generate the same Unique again with different rolls.
Or maybe you can exchange them for a type of shard/dust/currency that makes you reroll exisiting uniques.
Addition of exchange between different types of items is a good idea of yours and we can combine two systems and implement different combinations or receipts. As for exchange unique items for a chance to get a higher LP item, the developers could setup a very low chance of success. In addition, it could somewhat solve the problem with inflation because of implementing a new way to withdraw money from market.
I simply don’t like any addition that makes LP uniques not drop only anymore, similar to T6 and T7 Exalted Affixes.
There should always be some stuff in loot based-games that is and remains drop-only.
Any kind of addition how rare and hard it might be, that makes it possible to get these items through other means, devalues the drop in soem capacity and makes them less special.
LE already has not so many feel good moments, when items drop, because the moments of excitment are splti between, dropping, crafting and legendary crafting, multiple steps that individually can fail.
A cool 2 or 3LP drop still is one of the most exciting things, if its an item that you potentially gonna use on any build.
I like it only if it’s done exactly like in PoE:
You place 5 uniques there, you get random unique back. No boosts, no guarantees.
There should also be a way to recycle legendaries into a clean LP base.
I think MG needs a new gold sink more, than a new item sink, to slow down the inflation and make items more affordable. Selling to reroll will make rare items slightly cheaper, but will wipe out cheap items from the bazaar
As for CoF, sure why not. That could be another prophecy or vendor type - selling X specific unique items gives back the same unique item / selling 5 unique items of the same type give a new item of that type, with LP slightly higher than the average LP of sold items. This way the cost is the favor and there can be no downside. Same for idols, reroll into slightly above average.
The broad general idea of there being something useful you can do with duplicate Uniques is good.
There should not be any guaranteed way to create an item with LP. If you don’t like the random drop chance, join the Merchant’s Guild.
It’s called ‘taxation’ of some form and EHG failed to implement this basically mandatory mechanic into their system for the moment.
Maybe 1.1, we can hope.
But well, MG is generally not very well made overall, CoF on the other hand is well made.
If the suggested exchange of items for ones of higher LP is a dead end, so there are other variants: reroll of affixes, reroll of base values, get another variant of the same type (possibly, monolith specific items can be included as well).
Does that recipe still exist? I remember that being one of Navali’s prophecies, but I can’t find any vendor recipe that allows for the 5-to-1 conversion. There is still the ability to sell three of the same uniques to get a rerolled version.
I 'd support either of these in Last Epoch - possibly the reroll would actually be more valuable in LE.
I don’t know, I stopped playing PoE. It’s possible it’s gone. But I agree, either that or the 3:1 reroll would be nice to have. As long as they have nothing to do with LP.
No, they removed it (5 to 1) at some point.
