Game is too bloated on different affixes with different crafting methods, and all endgame items are restricted by specific affix combinations on specific bases you have to loot/buy in MG. There is no way to craft endgame viable item from scratch, you are going into market, and search for required combinations. Or you pray to RNG in COF. But it’s goes worse. Filtering and sorting these affix combinations. Yeah. When any crafting step starts from specific combinations, and there are things like Rune of Havoc, there is almost no way to say on first glance what did you loot, junk or treasure. This is not an ARPG already, it’s a loot sorting game. No matter how good your lootfilter is, you will loot too much and will spend more time checking loot than actually playing game. And yes, i even played with uber-strict version of trade filter. Even this popular filter went from simply filtering popular t7 to almost 200 rules with combinations for each item slot and dozens of rules for rune of havoc items. Just comparing it from PoE (most obvious comparison): you can craft anything starting from the base you need. You don’t pray and loot every rare item for affix combinations you need. You aren’t limited by substracting number that makes your item uncraftable. Having too much crafting options with limited crafting attempts makes it much worse, than it was in earlier versions with just forging potential. Rune of Havoc made it worse.
That’s an opinion from non-SSF player. It’s great for SSF as long as you aren’t a hoarder stockpiling items for possible builds. Sadly, i’m both trade-only player and hoarder. I’m done with season again, and probably with game too until any serious changes to itemization.
