I think title says it all.
I find it frustrating after filtering the items I need for the build to have to check which ones are worth picking up to sell as they are high value.
I tried highlighting all the t4-5 , or above a certain level , but that does not seem to translate to high value really.
We don’t see to have a filter option for total tier count off all affixes, which might translate to high value.
So either total tier count , or sell value would be nice to have as an option in the filter.
Honestly, I have never sold any non-unique items with the express purpose of making a profit… The values are simply too little imho vs the small “backpack” space - i.e. collecting things that sell for 100 gold that take up 8 slots is just not worth it.
The only things i do sell are excess uniques…
I have found that with the MoF Blessing Scales of Greed (level Fall of the Outcasts) just picking up gold drops from normal kills is more than enough to make some decent profits…
Stacking MoF echos to get the drop boosts is also a great way of ensuring a decent level of gold per MoF run…
This would be a GREAT addition to the loot filter and I think its been asked for quite a few times on the forum…
You kinda hit another problem there. Why are items so trash that are not even worth picking up for resale value
In that case maybe the only shards that should drop, and a lot more of , should be the shatering
so the only way you get crafting shards is trough picking up items and breaking them
Perhaps the devs dont intend this as a way to make gold in the game? Items are definitely trash from a gold “value” perspective but obviously they are far more valuable as gear for crafting in late game and as early game upgrades.
Making gear more valuable as crafting shard sources is interesting but again, the devs have made shattering runes so costly (and rare as drops) that it seems like they dont want you to do this - at least not for anything less than the extremely rare crafting shards…
Because if there aren’t any “crap” items you won’t be able to have any “good” items. And crap/good are both value statements based on your build but the game doesn’t take your build into account when generating items for drops, hence you will always have some crap items (that aren’t good for your build) drop.
Think we are deviating from the topic.
If they have a gold value , then I would like to have an easier way to tell if any are worth picking up to sell, for gold.
Gold pricing of items feels a bit unbalanced right now. I see items with high tier affixes and a high level base that are worth 30 gold. And other that are lower level with trash affixes cost 300+ gold.
Either fix the pricing or give me a filter to not miss 500+ gold ones that I would bother picking up.
Lol i made a topic of this once. so yes i agree!
It is so annoying not having the option to only go for high amount of gold items. The downside of that option would be that you are missing out on good bases to craft on and good tiers so it isnt an Overpowered option because of that either i think.
There are actually crap items which are worth a lot of gold. They have for example higher level item level and higher tiers on it but for example only 2 affixes on it. It could be an item to craft on but straight of the ground its a trash item. Since the LE system values certain item as high gold ones it wouldnt nescesarry give you only good items.
You might miss out on some good base crafting items or even usable items that you filter out if they would have a value filter (Gold wise).
I feel like the implicits on a lot of the normal rarity items are being slept on. Other arpgs have conditioned people into automatically assuming that normal and magic rarity are mostly vendor food while maybe a rare could be worth keeping.
But the ranges on the implicits and the affixes are huge in this game. All those rares that drop might not roll as good of an implicit that the normal item did that you have hidden in your filter because you think it has no value.
But if it’s a good item to craft on it’s by definition not a crap item. This game is so crafting-focussed I don’t think that you can define an item as bad if it can be easily crafted to good.
The way my filter is set up, it would be easy add just one rule to show these without excluding stuff I might actually want to craft with. This is because mine doesn’t hide stuff. It just color codes their relative value based on number of affixes and if the affixes are +skill or class related.
It actually is by definition a crap item if it is not meant for your class, build or weapon type in my opinion (considering it only having 2 stats). Especially when you got some decent gear already it is just a white item to me…
Beside that needing to craft multiple isnt perse a good crafting base either. It has potential for it. I rather choose items that cost less materials to do further crafts on.
So i would love to see a gold option so i can still pick those items up just for the gold.
So i could set up something like; If an item is 100 gold or more Show it and enhance it (the enhance option they got already).
Or if an item is less then for example 100 gold, hide it.
This makes me wonder… if you’re playing a Sentinel and loot a god-tier Acolyte armor, you will consider it crap? Or will you keep it and consider using it with an Acolyte?
Imho filtering items based on sell value doesn’t have a good benefit.
People try to put on their habits from other games on LE. But this doesn’t work in all cases.
Items have a relatively low sell value. Gold is mainly gathered by just looting gold piles. With the new patch we get gold piles as an echo reward. Gold doesn’t eat up inventory space.
If you run around and collect items to sell at the vendor, you need to tp to the vendor every 5 minutes. Time investment vs reward is not worth it. The opportunity cost of just keeping on killing enemies and looting gold this way (also gain XP) is too high.
On mono I can’t afford any space for all items. I only pick up items with rare affixes and affixes valuable for my build. Sometimes I’m also looking for items for other builds sometimes.
Theres absolutely no space to additionally collect items just for selling at the vendor.
So yes, theres no filter for gold value. Implementing it would add nothing. Best way to get rich is to kill stuff and ignore crap on the ground.
Not sure why all the debate of what crap item means or not.
I agree it is relative to what you are playing or the characters you have.
Even further if they add trading , it becomes relative to what the meta builds are.
But all that would be covered by specific targeted filters.
What is left is a bunch of items for which the only reason to pick up would be high gold value. And high gold value is also relative to the player. Low level at his first character would probably pick up 100g+
Endgamer with lots of characters might pick up only 1000g+
I would consider it crap and sell it for gold.
I got a certain amount of tabs and save a lot of stuff already, it needs to be really really special of Acolyte or a different class before i safe it to be honest.
Exactly this! I dont understand the debate about the crap item either.
When iam maining something i want to spend most time on that one for example.
Then the rest of the items are just getting sold most of the time. Since i have many gold problems because i try a lot of different thinks for respecs and i buy a lot of tabs i want more gold.
