I have not been able to find everything I need to play a build in over 100 hours. That doesn’t happen in D3. I am beyond a “reasonable amount of time” to find some items.
There are flaws in literally every system they ever will come up with.
It is just to choose the least flawed one.
Like the game and will still be playing it.
But i think this is a wrong move and think you will loss players with this.
In the CT i play with a friend most of the time, its so annoying when we find items the other one can use if we do a few runs alone and can’t trade them with each other… it ruins some of the fun of having friends in the same game ever as you not 100% play every game together.
At last let up trade with people we have sad on out friende list for a longer time or something.
I am extremely pleased that you’re sticking to your guns and continuing in this direction.
Playing the game for loot instead of playing the game for currency feels so much more fun and rewarding.
The people who regurgitate “you don’t have to trade if you don’t want to” either refuse to understand why trade would only hurt the game (in its current state), or just want LE to become a carbon copy of POE.
Hopefully you don’t crumble under the complaints, this is very positive for the game in the long run.
I think there’s several things happening, or possibly happening there.
What do you mean when you say “everything I need to play a build”? If you’re looking to get legendaries with particular legendary effects, or exceptionally rare uniques (eg, Ravenous Void) or exalted items with specific t6/7 affixes on specific bases, or even 2+ exalted affixes, then those items are supposed to be chase items that take a long time to get. If you’re referring to build-enabling uniques (regardless of the roll) or a full set of rares with reasonable bases, mostly the “correct” affixes, that should generally be able to be acquired in a "reasonable " amount of time (imo, way less than 100 hours), though some uniques are on the rarer end.
Finally, what level of capability do you mean? Capable of doing empowered monos? 200/300/400/500 corruption?
Even D3 has chase items (primal ancients with all the right min/maxxed affixes).
I just want confirmation… is there seriously not going to be any player trading?
The original Kickstarter praises player economies for being an enjoyable aspect of the ARPG genre…
I cannot express how disappointed I am.
the least flawed one would be just to not have it… which is basically the same as this model lol… nobody i know plays at the same time as me, so no trade XD.
Still a good game, but yah im also very disappointed sadly.
The problem is that I was really looking forward to playing with friends. There is no longer any incentive.
And you guys thought we’ll get bored till March.
grabs another bucket of popcorn
Kcikstarter is very old, the game evolved. bazaar already got ruled out almsot 1 year ago.
Also if you read the post, EHG still things that player economy is good, but it just overshadows the net negatives it would bring.
Just read the dev blog, it explains their reasoning qutie well.
Whether the Bazaar got ruled out or not, EHG recognized that player economy in some form was essential.
They did not say its essential (my understanding of essential would be equal to mandaory), but it isn’t.
When something is “one of the most enjoyable” aspects of anything, I would argue it becomes essential in order to preserve that “enjoyable” nature.
Not really a trade system, it is just gifts. And i don’t understand why using instanced loots if it is for add this gift system. I also don’t understand people complaining about trade systems when they just might not be using it. In the end, 0.9’s multiplayer will bring absolutely nothing more than the possibility of playing with several people. It’s a bit light for a hack’n’slash, and it clearly wasn’t worth such a long wait. And we’ll probably have to wait more than 2 years before seing 1.0 and the start of “cycles”.
The negatives that come with a trading system outweight the “enjoyable” things.
I just really hope everybody that is disappointed right now at least will try out the game extensively enough to judge themselves.
And people that already did play the game enough to judge, try to find ways how you could enrich your experience without trading and suggest that to the devs.
Goodbye , Bazaar! I will be missing you. I liked the idea. But I can adapt. I enjoy d3 without free trading and PoE where you almost have to buy every single item for a specific build for end-game bossing.
One solution for a trade between friends I came up with - if you drop an item you can send it via tne in-game mail system (like season items got transfered to non-season in D3) to a person who is on you friend list (have been on it for at least 3 days). But you can only send it within 30 min after the item dropped. The item is account-bound upon receiving and not further tradable.
I strongly disagree.
I just want to be able to freely trade with friends and their only “negative” was that providing an item to a friend early would “spoil” their journey.
A paltry excuse if you ask me.
I am not sure how much you followed trading discussions in the past, but there are literally dozens of negative things that come with any form of trading, be it restricted or unrestricted.
This would completely blow up this thread here, so I highyl recommend browsing through previous similar threads.
Server authoritive character data is massive even for solo players. Arena ladders have been a joke full of notepad warriors for a very long time.
