Item drop bug - item remains on the screen persistently

While in a party with another person (not sure if relevant), I went to drop an item while traveling to another area while questing. This caused the item image to remain picked up from my inventory, but dropped in the previous zone I believe. So when I loaded into the next area, the item was still clicked on, but when i dropped it on the ground, the image of the item remained on my screen. This stayed through multiple zones until I closed my game.
