Isle of Storms: GPU temperatures too high in some areas

In some areas of the Isle of Storms my GPU rises quickly up to almost 80° and does not go down. Especially in these areas:
-The Coral Pools
-Lagon’s Isle
-The Strand of Storm
-Monolith of Shrines.

Subsequent zones however such as The Temple of Lagon are fine, my GPU drops to 65-66°.
Further improvements are therefore needed in these areas, because if I have these temperatures with Medium/High settings I don’t want to imagine those who have everything with Ultra and who maybe stream.

There are some areas that I feel like that consumes more GPU power than normal but unlike yours, mine is usually only around +2-3°C when I’m in these areas but that’s only I’m playing at capped 60-75fps at 1080p. It’s kind of too much though for it to jump to 80°C in your case… Are you playing at uncapped frame rate? If you do, I’d suggest to just cap it to 75-90 FPS because the issue would less likely to be solved or “this” being even considered as an issue.

I have vertical sync on, if I don’t use vsync i have all time tearing and I hate it. But as I said I have some issues just in that zone, instead in other zones I have have 60-65° that is good.

What is the refresh rate of your monitor? For me, enabling vsync makes the game go to max refresh rate of my monitor (I have a 144hz monitor so it tries to match this. Also I have vsync off and I don’t have tearing). And sadly we can’t enable the limiter with the vsync on.

This is purely situational—just in case you want V-sync:ON while wanting to limit your FPS while also wanting to lessen the heat being generated by your GPU, you can probably just do it via your GPU’s control panel and set the limit you want in there instead. Though it’s only useful if you have more than 60Hz monitor and if your PC can render it at more than 60FPS.

So all I can think about your issue is that your FPS is too high on these areas maybe reaching 144fps causing your temps to skyrocket.

75hz.

I also tried disabling it ingame and limiting the fps from the Nvidia control panel but nothing changed.
As I said it’s not a problem that prevents me from playing.
But if I have these temperature increases in specific areas it is certainly an issue with the game and not with my hardware.
