I find the inventory management controls rather inconsistent/incomplete. Depending on what screens are open, the differences in behaviour feel unintuitive. Ctrl is doing no work at all, and right click is doing too much, in my experience. And I definitely have the same gripe many have stated before about accidental RC versus Shift + RC causing item loss to shop and shatters. I don’t have this issue in any other games’ inventory management systems.
So, are there already plans to rearrange anything here? Are there some future mouse actions to accomodate that require the current state? As of testing just now, this is what I experience:
INVENTORY/STASH
Left click: pick up, put down
Ctrl + LC: pick up, put down
Shift + LC: pick up, put down
Right click: swap equip
Ctrl + RC: swap equip
Shift + RC: send to stash/inventoryFORGE
Left click: pick up, put down
Ctrl + LC: pick up, put down
Shift + LC: pick up, put down
Right click: send to inventory
Ctrl + RC: send to inventory
Shift + RC: send to inventoryBUY FROM SHOP
Left click: nothing
Ctrl + LC: nothing
Shift + LC: pick up, put down
Right click: nothing
Ctrl + RC: nothing
Shift + RC: quick buySELL TO SHOP
Left click: pick up, put down
Ctrl + LC: pick up, put down
Shift + LC: pick up, put down
Right click: swap equip
Ctrl + RC: swap equip
Shift + RC: quick sell
I also occasionally move or attack with right click while my cursor is hovering a panel, but maybe that’s some unrelated bug. It seems to me the following simplified and consistent setup would feel much better and safer, while keeping all existing functionality:
ANY INVENTORY MANAGEMENT
Left click: pick up, put down
Ctrl + LC: move item to opposite panel (including buy/sell)
Shift + LC: move item to opposite panel (including buy/sell)
Right click: swap equip (no auto buy/sell)
Ctrl + RC: swap equip (no auto buy/sell)
Shift + RC: swap equip (no auto buy/sell)
I personally don’t see any benefit to single-click gear-swapping over click and drag, especially for rings and dual-wielding, but we’ve had it for a long time, so I’m guessing someone likes it. I’d still at least like to see it become an option we can disable. Perhaps better still, just let all of these actions be customizable, if that’s feasible.
