Is Shift less lenient now?

I came back to the game for the event and found myself quite displeased with Shift. I just keep shifting in place because I’m hitting walls.
I understand I must be clicking out of bounds or asking for a trajectory that collides with a wall. So I believe it is working as intended.
But, I also really believe I used to be able to get away with worse pathing before. And it would still move me. When I am Shifting down a winding path it’s quite hard to anticipate the geometry of the 3D environnement and where before it would make me hug the wall for a distance and put me futher down. I’m now Shifting in place.
I used to use Shift to evade all kind of attacks in sticky situations but now I don’t know if it’ll be easy enough to use in tight spots for me to rely on it. And I have to say it saddens me.
Or maybe it’s just me?
