Coming from a gamer with thousands of hours played in the genre on many title, I was wondering what you guys think about the arena map.
They are not badly designed or anything in particular but they are just not enjoyable. Every time I get one of those arena I’m telling myself “Damn an arena map again” . Am I alone thinking this??
The timing at which the mob spawn is a bit off, being stuck in a zone and not going anywhere is just not cool as a map (no problem with the “Arena” event). Another point is that it is pretty much a timed event so no matter how good your build is you will be stuck in it for approx the same amount of time than everybody else. So you don’t feel the any dopamine effect that you get with a regular map when you can do them fast once you get geared. There is no reward too coming from killing mob compare to a regular map. The whole experience just break the flow you get in when you map in this game which is amazing btw.
If you feel the same please share your thought too and help me push this game higher :D.
Yeah they should make it more like an arena. Each wave should be a few unique gladiator type enemies with a sick and threatening AI like the final bosses. I guess it’s good to have a mix of mob types and AOE density to fit those builds. Sooo maybe they can have a few phases that spawn a bunch of mobs to mix it up.
Basically… all arena waves should be one step lower tier of versions of their final bosses.
-There are many threads about “arena” in this game. I am unsure if your post was about Monolith arenas or the actual arena node/activity but yeah… either way, I do not enjoy the experience.
-Especially with monolith. Just an annoyance. Not much loot, waste of time, only do them because it’s a gateway to the monolith echo I WANT.
