So I teleported to a town from a map, and when I got back, nearly immediately even before I couldn’t even move or cast any skill I got killed by monsters. I’m in HC so this is a bit frustrating and I just wanna know if it is a bug and there should be a spawn immunity or is it just this way the whole time. Like I heard monsters hitting me even when the loading screen wasn’t finished and then instant death, even before I saw my character…
It’s this way the whole time. Basically there’s a window of time between you seeing the loading screen and it actually unloading the map.
So before you leave the area/teleport, make sure the area is clear.
This can also work the other way, btw. If you leave a skill blasting in the background or if you have minions, they will continue killing stuff while you’re loading the next area.
It shouldn’t be this way. Easiest would be to give you immunity when you have a loading screen and can no longer interact with the game.
But for now it is how it is, so account for it and make sure that the area is clear when switching areas.
Yea I never did teleport this way and I play since early access. But had to run to the doors haha. Very bad experience and I would remember it for sure. No teleport from a map for another few next years.
Yeah, it sucks, especially playing HC. At least in offline you can pause the game instead.
Maybe you should open a feedback thread and suggest that you get immunity as soon as you get to the loading screen. Seems like the easiest solution to implement and it would fix the issue.
I’ve had this a couple of times, where I died, used a previously positioned portal to get back, only to forget that on death, all the mobs respawn and you’re mobbed before you can even interact with the game.
Lesson learned.
Invul timer when you use a portal untill you do something… problem solved.
You do have one. Except that in many instances the invuln timer starts counting down as soon as the instance is loaded, even if you’re still seeing the loading screen.
And if you have minions, they immediately start attacking and the invuln timer goes away.
They should really fix the various instances of it. In monos you get invuln until you move (or until a minion attacks). In campaign you only have it for a few seconds because it starts counting down immediately, even when you don’t move.
If you are invul your pets should be in “stasis” and the invul timer should start ticking down three seconds later to make up for LE loading seasons.
Honestly, the invuln phase should just put everything into stasis (yourself, minions, enemies) until you do any action. And it should always be permanent until you do, like happens in echoes but not in other places, like the campaign.
Yes it should like many other things should. Guess the devs of EHG are the only people who think it shouldn’t be because they don’t act on feedback. That’s an old tale to be told… how many posts are here on this board that mention invul timers and pets running of? Don’t dare to count.
