Insane grind

I’ve returned to the game after initial release. The game was promising but loaded with bugs and stupid designs.
Now 2 years later some of those things have been fixed, but i encounter a truly absurd grind needed to gain even 200 corruption on echoes.
Ive been playing 3 days straight to get to 225 corruption on 1 of those timelines. having to grind through maybe 30 or 40 echoes, to find an orybus node. only to gain 10 or 20 corruption. (yes i know you can improve that, but all that stuff has to be done too)

This is not my idea of fun. Coupled with the fact that certain good affixes seem to NEVER drop, even on lower tiers. I have my lootfilter set to explode with bells and sounds if a +1 warpath affix drops, and have yet to see even a +1, let alone a +4. Not fun at all.

I will probably quit again and come back in 2 years, maybe.

The catch up mechanic is improved now so once you move to another time line then you’ll find an Orobyss echo as soon as you complete any echo. Generally its 1-2 echoes from the center before an Orobyss echo pops up for me. This will bring the corruption close to your highest corruption timeline.

Also, have you been gaining Gaze of Orobyss by clearing the timeline boss? If you’re only getting +20 corruption then it sounds like you definately are not taking advantage of that.

Go straight away from the center as far as you can. The further you are, the more stability you gain and the sooner you can kill the boss. Killing the boss is important because you can get 50-60 corruption instead of 10-20 after you killed the boss 4 times before killing the shade. You can also kill the harbinger as well to get 2 gazes instead of 1 so 2 boss kill is enough to max out corruption gain.

+level affixes are rare but you can evolve the beast boss to drop level affixes and basically you need 1 to create a +4 level item because if you find the right item type with any T7 affix then you crat a T1 +1 level on it then use rune of havoc to swap the T7 to the +level affix. Getting T7 +level gear is ridiculously easy this season.

By the way if you’re not enjoying climbing corruption then why would you enjoy playing on higher corruption? The ARPG endgame loop is grinding better and better gear so you see bigger numbers because bigger numbers give you more dopamin.
