I’m still pretty low, have been playing for about 2+ hours but wanted to jot down some initial feedback.
Game is pretty, music is realky great. Good environments
Weapon swap - will it be in game? Would like to swap between weapons
I feel like the onscreen minimap (tab) is a bit too bold. using dots, or a more faded line would be less distracting
-Would have been nice to sell a little earlier (on the way to get the shard and then going to the Council Chambers)
-Walking back into the first encampment after fighting for a short while, all the destructibles were respawned. Not sure if this was intentional (and I got loot from them).
Disappointed that there is no easy way to compare DPS/effects dmg, etc when looking at weapons. Equipping/unequipping there should be an easy way to see the difference in damage (it just shows stat loss in red or gain in green, no dmg numbers)
-Tooltips obstruct the item (for me it was shards that were to the right of my inventory)
-The Rogue character (female) could be more feminine looking.
Really enjoying the game so far (I’m level 9 IIRC).
In this game there is no point in selling stuff. The gold value is set really low. Better to just not pick up anything unless it’s worth trying to upgrade your gear or shatter for shards.
Leaving a zone resets it. Generally you don’t leave zones unless you are done with them, especially in endgame, so the reset rarely comes up. Someone in chat was talking about how they kept opening chests in an early zone thinking they were making easy money this way… but you really aren’t. So don’t think about doing this, it’s a waste of time.
In early game I always pick up at least magic stuff and sell it; in this case to buy shatter shards or whatever. When I killed the Elder who had become corrupted (Pinnion?) I was full up, and made the mistake of teleporting to sell, only to have him reset, which was annoying. I stand by that I wish I could sell earlier without full reset. I’m a completionist, so this doesn’t help, granted.
As for re-opening chests, that seems silly, I don’t do that sort of thing.
Thanks for the tips, esp for the minimap. I was using the skills as a guide for dps, but it’s a bit cumbersome to keep re-equipping stuff to compare. I was fortunate and got a unique fire bow quite early on, and I keep wondering at what point it will be outdated. So it gets tedious when I get some decent looking bows to save them up, equip and look at skill DPS, and make the decision. Rinse and repeat.
I wish - but clearly it won’t be heeded at this point - that there were more than 4 skill slots. The sprint dodge (E) is too useful to get rid of, yet we can specialise in four skills, and taking into account that dodge, we only have three other slots then, plus whatever you bind to your right click. So once you settle on those 4 skills to specialise in, you’re never really going to use any of the other ones, I guess is the idea. It seems too bad, because other skills are kind of neat, and I wish I could weapon swap and maybe experiment more. I guess I just chafe at what I perceive are artificial constraints that I feel reduce my gameplay options.
You would need to sell 200 items to afford one shatter rune. That’s how worthless items are. You are actually wasting time vendoring things, you’ll find more raw gold drop from monsters regularly than you’ll ever get from vendoring, even early game. The amount of time spent vendoring you could have made way more gold just continuing killing monsters.
