Infinite smoke bombs and ward with dive bomb?

Let’s start with setup.

Smoke Bomb:

  • Umbral Assault, create 1 shadow every second in every smoke cloud.
  • Lingering Fumes, +50% duration (6 sec)

Dive Bomb:

  • Cloud Gatherer, +40% smoke duration every time falcon dive into smoke
  • On Wings of Shadow, 3 shadow falcons (default max shadows for falconer) spawn from shadows
  • Dancing Shadows, shadow falcon hits again if it was spawned in smoke cloud

Armor:

  • Ward Gained When You Create a Shadow, 100+ ward per shadow with t6+

You will get infinite smoke cloud with this setup, because first dive bomb cast inside smoke cloud will create 7 falcon hits, each increasing remaining time by 40%. Later you can cast dive bomb anywhere, it will hit inside cloud again from spawned shadows.

You can put more smoke bombs in same spot and every falcon hit in area will increase remaining time.

And now for neat part. Every cloud creates 1 shadow per second. Yes our limit is 3, so we will see only 3 shadows at same time. But “on shadow create” trigger works every time and you can gain loads of ward with it.

I tried it on arena and with minimal (<300 flat ward minimum and <10% retention) investment i got 3k ward running.

Downsides: fps drops when there are more than 5 clouds on screen.

I guess it’s not the bug, just cool mechanics combo.
But surely it will be nerfed somehow in the future: maybe reworked cloud gatherer to apply only with real falcon or added some hard cap on clouds.

I do not think that it works that way. I’m pretty sure only 1 instance of the falcon, the main/real falcon, procs the 40% duration, not all of the shadows. I could be wrong, but it’d make more sense that way.

Nope, just checked again.
Put a smoke and send dive bombs to another part of the screen not touching it with aoe. If your shadows standing in smoke it will survive for a very long time after few casts.

Did a small testing. Feels like it starting to fall apart after 5k ward, but idk it’s my stats (279% retention, 318 decay) or something going wrong with 7+ smoke bombs.

Did a bit more testing today (got t6 ward on shadow helmet and t7 chest, plus around 700 ward decay threshold)

After some stacking on base island in monoliths i managed to hit 12k+ consistent ward with ~22 active clouds: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3171622220

Fun part, this will continue to work inside monos and will not reset, because mono doesn’t make instance change.
Actually your shadow falcons will flight somewhere offscreen, causing visual glitch on dive bomb. But this will refresh all clouds duration without problems.
