Two friends played the game. They liked a lot, but they crushed the early game too fast. With no death.
Difficulty is one of the key fun feature. You should really increase the difficulty at the Early and Mid game.

They are aware of this & have said they will be looking a the difficulty.
I donât care about the difficulty in the story part of the game to be honest. Sure you need to be in the winter part of the game, forgott the name sorry ^^, untill you feel the difficulty rising but then again I think about people with a casual mindset and who play for fun. I think everyone will have a good time if the game start out easy and get harder instead of starting hard and make people leave or write salty reviews :).
I understand. But I think casual players like a certain level of difficulty. Here itâs just too easy, at least with certain class (Primalist with its 2 powerfull minions for exemple).
I think Diablo 2 is a good stallion of difficulty. Act 1 was rather easy, but still difficult at times, see very difficult against the late boss Andariel.
Despite the difficulty, the game was fun for casuals.
I think the biggest problem here is that the difficulty spike in Chapter 7 and 8 are massive. So the overall difficulty is not very linear.
I donât mind having a âsetâ difficulty without the option to choose any difficulty, so everybody has the same base experience in the story mode.
But what i really would like to see is some optional extra difficulty for your 2nd and onward playthroughs. (Especially for veteran players and players that are already very familar with the base game, an optional difficulty would really make trying new builds with new chars more interesting)
What I REALLY would love in terms of difficulty is - I think it would be way more fun (at least for me) if the difficulty was harder in early mid game. If it is not, then my early decision-making and my builds too feel irrelevant. Theres no challenge involved and therefor I dont need think a lot.
And I personally love the very quest of leveling a char from the get-go, and even on lvl 10, on lvl 15, 20 and so on, for my decisions to matter and to feel the effect of that decisions. If decisions do not matter, large part of the game is just a junk to go through, and I fail to enjoy it as much.
And thats what IMO is really missing from my side - an initative to enjoy the Content until you get to higher chapters / Monolith.
In Diablo 2, I fear and caution every act, from the get-go. It has a steep and rewarding learning and difficulty curve IMO, and I still enjoy and feel thrilled, starting a new character and going through the Story. Even after the 200th time.
I know we have the Veteran mode or how its called. And I really enjoy that. I`d want the normal difficulty to be 30% more like Veteran to feel more interesting, to feel more like its fun to Play through more times, and that its fun leveling an alt. It should be rewarding in difficulty for said reasons, and I think it is quite rewarding for the some things already (the crafting mats you find). Maybe, later, some other initiatives could be found in the playthrough (low-mid Level legendaries that are also usable in higher Levels and only to be found in low-mid lvl content or something.
I do really miss feeling thrilled to start a new char! And I`d really like to do it more often (because its fun doing other than Arena/Monolith). Because I also do like doing questing and going through the chapters and progressing in that way.
At some point you will do the story for the 50th time and youâd wish to do the campaign as quickly as possible.
Iâm fine with early/midgame being easy to be honest.
Exactly. Iâd say the main problem at the moment is the sudden spike in act 8. Also, some people coming in to Last Epoch may be new, this may be their first ever game like this. Do you really want to drive them away with insanely hard content?
Another problem with making the content too hard is that you basically canât afford to re specialize your skills without wasting a whole bunch of time getting them back up. This isnât POE where you can just get a new gem from trade or vendors with a decent level and youâre good to go.
The community might say to please follow a build guide, but letâs be honest here. I wouldnât say most people will start off with a build guide, theyâll probably toss themselves straight into the game and when they get stuck, start consulting a build guide.
Yeah they probably should smoothen out the difficulty curve. Thereâs a noticeable spike in ch7 and ch8.
I find this interesting
I agree, but still people should have somewhat of a choice, i prefer a challenging level progressing, since itâs not 100% braindead then and because of that it feels less âgrindyâ.
Also what could be a solutions, to offer the the possibility to unlock passive and idol slots from story quest via some other means, maybe through buyable or other way unlockable consumables(or similar system). This way you could levle new toons from the get go in MoF, or maybe some other activity.
Maybe they could add something like âadventure modeâ, where you get random level with random generated mini quests. Having multiple ways of leveling new chars is always welcoem IMO. Even if one option is âbetterâ or faster, i woudl still prefer choice how i wanna level my new char.
difficulty is fine, you can add masochist challenge mode, and/or compete in arena ladders against other players if you think its to ez for you, or your friends bud. all you want to do is slow the game down, after ive already ran the campaign a 100 times. I dont agree with you. i doubt you have played the game much to make a good statement. thereâs also hosted community tournaments. @Jojo_fr
I think this is important to consider as well aside from overall difficulty of early game is concerned. My understanding is that with minion classes, you almost cant go wrong in the early game but others like mage and sentinels which I play often, if you dont choose the right starting skills you may be in for a bad time.
and you think two whole sentences will give our community such vast insight to what you are trying to say, is very poor on your part. next time make more effort in your posts. @Jojo_fr seems like a troll topic you have made.
Then play masochist and you have a challange or play hardcore for an additional kick. There are already options to make things more difficult.
