I have Arborus’ bleed Rogue build. Adding, for example, an Adorned Majasan Idol with ‘60% increased armor shred effect’ should buff Flurry’s tooltip dps. So far as I can tell, no form of ‘increased armor shred effect’ causes tooltip DPS to increase. I’m sure that this a bug not a feature so please consider it for your backlog ; )
Probalby unneccessarily longwinded answer, but I am sure that the maths savvy players will add to this and correct my very shallow explainations below:
Armor Shred “Effect” is always going to be difficult for inclusion into the Tooltips - its basically an increase the in Armour shred effect Value (default 100) not the chance to apply armour shred and the actual value applied is obviously dependant on the stack(s) of armour active on a specific mob so its difficult to include this in a way that is a VALID/REALISTIC addition to the dps calculation - there are lots of these “It depends” type calcs that the devs have discussed on threads before. There is also the issue of global values affecting everything and local values that only affect certain skills or only apply in certain situations.
The general idea here is that the devs aim/want to have the tooltips to be as correct as possible and variable (especially things like shreds with chance to apply) dps is hard for them to do in a static situation to any degree of correctness. AND the devs have also discussed a lot around the issue of having VALID data that is USEFUL during play - i.e. in the heat of the battle what data do you actually want to help your play, vs data that is secondary…
This same issue applies to parts of the existing character sheet too…
On this note: The devs have confirmed a rework of the character sheet - hopefully to drop in 0.8.5 (unconfirmed rumour), that will address a lot of the character sheet and indirectly tooltips in the game… (you can search the forum to see all the different issues with character sheets and tooltip discussions).
Yes and no. If armour shred affects the tooltip dps then armour shred effect should as well, since its just a modifier to the armour shred value. I’d have thought that the effect of armour shred would be the harder one to calculate compared to armour shred effect.
