In leveling, please memory mapping

The fact that you have to redo everything every time you go through a door or gate is highly questionable and ultimately tiring.

Wouldn’t it be possible to save the current maps (the last two) and reset them manually if needed ?

so you want the maps to stay cleared with the option to reset an area if you want it?
why would you need that? you usually dont spend much time in the campaign areas

the maps arent randomized so the layouts never change. for the enemies you could just run through as well instead of killing everything you see

One of the main reason for map resetting is because it improves the performance a great deal.

They might actually allow map memory once they have really optimized the game.

I would say, the amount of times I, by accident, click on a door that I didn’t mean to just for me to have to go back and go through monsters I’ve already cleared is more than 3 times. I don’t get much from it besides a headache and yes, I can run through it but why do I have to even do that? 2 maps to save may be too much but last map shouldn’t be that much of an issue. This also applies to dungeons, not just campaign areas.

Yeah, optimizing the game is definitely more important than map saving.

There are several reasons for this, the main one being a question of atmosphere and logic, as you’ve just cleared the area and there’s no reason for all the monsters to reappear and for you not to remember the place (fog of war).

The second is that when you’re discovering the game and levelling up, it’s long and tiring to redo everything just because you’ve opened the door of a house.

The third may be less obvious, but going back to the city through a portal because your bag is full and returning to your point of origin to continue has been part of the gameplay for a very long time.

And in informatique a simple flag “cleared” is not a problem.
