This is a small but very appreciated feature that is found in other games. A clock that displays the system time of the local pc is a quality of life feature that could be toggled on or off depending on the preference of the user.
There used to be one but it got removed in 0.9.
It used to be there but for some reason (I suspect accidentally) got removed with 0.9. They are planning on getting back in.
I suspect it was using the server time, which is not the same as the user’s pc for a server-authoritative game.
Been asking about this since I joined the CT back in Sept '22, and just recently in the Patch Notes for Rising Flames. I don’t think this is a violation to say this, but if it is, someone just ping me and I’ll delete it. No need to ping me if it’s NOT a violation.
Not sure why it hasn’t been added back in. I’m not a programmer but it’s probably something technical that takes a bit more finesse than I might’ve expected.
It’s still there in Offline Mode, but, sadly, not in Multiplayer. I do miss seeing it when I play Multiplayer. Like, you said, it’s a small thing, but it’s something that I loved about Grim Dawn and (when I was playing offline) Last Epoch that I don’t have to look over at my phone or the stove clock to check the time.
Because it uses the server time, not the client’s time (why I have no idea & comes back to your question).
Yeah. I read that and go, will isn’t that just an easy code issue where you just swap parameters. BUT I’m absolutely utterly clueless when it comes to programming so it must not be as easy as I think it would be.
Don’t shatter my illusion. I’m comfortable here.
