Hi team,
Marksman is my first build I play this season and the Multishot is fun. But I found out that the skill Dark Quiver even though is a strong and convenience support skill, but the way the character interacted with it still kind of clunky and odd.
The concept of picking up arrow is an interesting idea, and I believe the playstyle can actually become more smooth when both visualization and how you can pick them up needs to go along with the concept.
So far, it’s hard to tell if the arrow lands on the ground when environment color either blend with it or create a huge contrast (the arrow is already small, but the dark smoke effect surround that arrow is too thin) that make those arrows hard to stand out, not mentioning when you are having a pack of mobs with skill effects all stack up each other. So you either have to dodge or traverse around and hoping you can pick up a random arrow on the way. I suggest an upgrade to the arrow graphic to make it stands out with the rest. Even when the arrow drop on the ground, I also don’t feel that it was there, the small bass SFX being hinder with other SFX that were happening on the screen.
The second problem that I believe we can improve is how the arrow being spawned. So far they are randomly spawn on the ground but from what I observed usually they would drop from the back of the character or at a location that we already pass over, making either change the direction of your movement from linear to off-track to pick them OR backtrack to grab it. It will make sense if this is a boss battle as the whole fight may last long but pack of rare mobs make this experience not that much smooth. I suggest an improvement on how the arrow will appear so the gameplay can feel more smooth and naturally.
The third problem I believe is the pixel between the arrow and the character needs to be, how to say, really really close to pick them up. So you have to make more move to get close to that arrow to pick it. Naturally, players would expect there will be a relaxing gap between the arrow and the character so you can uptime the buffs, but here the stress will be add in more with another task: make sure you focus on the arrow location and step on top of it to grab it. I suggest a gold-like pick up range.
