I really like the Shrines in LE and actively seek them out rather than pass them by.
However, the Idol Shrine is extremely underwhelming, dropping at most 3 Idols that are class-specific - for random class - and the rest are (mostly) useless 1’s and 2’s (at least at high level).
It would be nice if the Idol Blessings from Fall of the Outcasts had an effect on them.
I suggest 3 improvements:
- Drop more class-specific Idols … from a drop rate of around 10 Idols, it feels around 30% class-specific right now. Make that 50%. So, let’s say, guaranteed 5 class-specific per Shrine.
- Let Idol Blessing have more impact. If I have 80% Grand Idols drop rate, make 4 of the 5 that drop actually be Grand Idols. No blessing = random Idols.
- Weight the Shrine more towards the class of the character actually playing, not random across all classes … say around 60% or 80% of Idols dropped would be for that class.
This would have an overall effect of producing:
10 Idols
5 of which are 1 and 2
3 or 4 of which would be for the class that I am playing and weighted towards the blessing.
2 or 1 of which would be class-specific for random classes and also weighted towards the blessing.
This would give the chance for 3 to 5 Idols for the class that is being played to drop as the random ones could randomly pick the class that is being played.
This would make Idol Shrines much more rewarding. Their spawn frequency could be reduced if the devs feel players are over-rewarded.
It would also not really come into effect until the player is the right level for class-specific Idols to drop, natch.
