Impossible to assign new key to controller

Hi,

when I go into the settings, my xBox controller is recognized. Buttons are assigned by default but none are assigned to main attack (skill 5 if I remember)
When I try to assign a button it says me to wait or press a button, then when I push the button, another screen says me to press the button I want to assign. At this step, whatever I do is not recognized and is not assigned. Then the timeout closes the window without assigning the key.

I am using a linux (kubuntu last version) laptop
