Just had a terrible patch of screen stuttering while fighting against the immortal eye mobs. It would start once they were present on my screen and finish once i had killed them. i think it maybe due to their spell ability that follows your character. i tested it throughout the map and it came and went with the immortal eye appearing and after me killing it.
